Basically the main locale of the map is enUS. I can add different locales by importing translations. However, if I change anything afterward either the other locales don't update (with English in new places obviously) or they get reverted to pure English in my attempt to fix them. Both scenarios are crap. It should maintain the translations and simply insert new stuff so that the new stuff can be isolated easier later on. Any ideas?
So, soon you will publish map? :D . In fact, what you wrote is not surprising. every time you change something you have to re-locate map, using SC2Localizer.
Well, it depends on what you want? If you're using the Localizer to 'localize' the map for all other languages (meaning they get proper English instead of param/value/23FWEJI!8 etc), then just localizing again once you've updated your main thing should do the trick. I don't think there is a way to 'relocalize' ' new things' to different languages, as this would require an incredibly intelligent AI.
It's like saying "Hey I translated this English essay into German, but now the English version is updated with some new words - how can I quickly also apply those changes to the German version?". You can't, you'll have to manually change everything that was changed in the English version.
Either that or I'm missing what you're trying to do.

we don't want to copy the english locale to the other locales, we actually want to translate them :)

yea that's what we want to do, Karawasa and I were talking about the locale issues about an hour long :D
so either we're doing it manually which would take a loooot of time, or we're not doing it at all >.<
just as information:
there will be soon be a newer/other version of localizer available which supports different kind of localization / multi-lingual localization and further options ; this is ofc not yet final or anywhere near release but the concept is
the editor always only updates the active language. there is nothing you can do about it i guess.
translate it manually by opening the mpq or switch the locale in the editor.
this is the reason i'm refusing to translate my map, but it is that easy to understand, there should be no need to
Yeah... I just work on my map, upload to US, close the editor, run localizer on the map, then regedit to EU bnet as per Sixen's post, open editor and map, then upload onto EU account. So far that's been fine assuming I want everything to be in English (which I do).
