Honestly, I don't even think vanilla WoW was that bad (albeit a bit plain). It's TBC, which is funnily enough the most praised WoW-expansion in terms of gameplay, where I think the lore first really started going downhill. The whole thing with 90% of the players never actually seeing the main villain of the expansion and what happened to Kael'Thas (and Blood Elves in general, really) just seemed a bit tame.
I hope that ALL the scbw protoss units will appear on LotV, i also wish
that corruptors - devourers - scourges - zerg guardian -sc1 queen and
defiler will come back.
Here a thing that i am pretty sure about:
WoL: Protoss mini-campaign
Hots: Terran bonus mission
LotV: Zerg Mission / Mini-Campaign
On the bonus mission we probably see Kerrigan on the search of Amon imho
Agreed on the campaign / bonus mission thing. As for the SCBW Zerg Units, they're in the campaign. Amon's brood uses BW units, I saw functional Queens using Esnare against me in the Shakuras mission that was available for test at BlizzCon. When I asked the developers, they said that they were put in the campaign on purpose and that it'll even be explained in the lore as to why Amon has access to older units, but not newer ones. They basically listened to their fans and inserted the SCBW Zerg and Toss units in the campaign. Yay!

I never really followed the WoW story, as in, I knew what was going on, but I never did any of the quests myself so I dont know how it was told. I remember that the WOTLK cinematic is one of the finest works that Blizzard has ever done, so Im not sure if Blizzards writing didnt really go downhill until after WOTLK. What I wanted to say is that every game they have done after WoW, as in, D3 and SC2, are abysmal in storytelling regards, not that WoW itself suffers the same.
To be fair, it's actually relatively hard to measure storytelling in WoW to begin with as it is done in such a hugely different fashion than it was in the WarCraft and StarCraft games. It's not even fully a 'single narrative', depending on where the player chooses to go. I guess in the end I would say that I really started the storytelling get worse come TBC, but you're right that WOTLK definitely had its moments. And really, so did Cataclysm and all the followup expansions. It really only got as dreadful as it did with StarCraft 2 in... well, StarCraft 2.
Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
I think LoTV campaign will be awesome if all Brood War units will re-appear in this game and we hope that it would be better than WOL and HoTS. The older units like the Dragoon likely appeared in the campaign overview from BlizzCon and the rest of the other old units will appear if it is possible because like Alex06 said when he questioned the developers why did they included the old Zerg units from the campaign and the developers answered that in the campaign of LoTV, Amon uses the SC1 Zerg units rather than the new ones from SC2. Look at Zeratul's prophecy missions which is the In Utter Darkness mission, Amon uses the Overmind's Zerg Swarm forces but we saw that Amon uses the new Zerg units from SC2 rather than using the classic Zerg units so we will say it is likely an error because it is supposed to be all SC1 Zerg units from the last prophecy mission, not SC2 new units. We should make sure that the SC1 Zerg units appear in LoTV. So that's all.

If there is, I doubt it'd be up for long. Blizzard is usually pretty good at taking down copyrighted material.
