"Show only active games" is even more succinct. Such a checkbox is the minimal implementation of the aforementioned functionality. However, it is also the most practical. You see, it allows it to be on all tabs instead of a single tab. I'm sure the value of this is self evident.
It is minimal, yes, but if you included everything players want (which wouldn't necessarily be wise) you have to keep some things minimal or you'll have an over-featured, cluttered list. That was pretty much what I was thinking, though.
@Vexal: Well, obviously "Show only Maps with Active player in Lobby" wouldn't fit well anywhere, you'd have to shorten it to something like "Show only active games" and have a hover-tooltip explaining it. Admittedly I though of this before this patch, but it could easily fit next to "category filter" here: http://static.sc2mapster.com/content/attachments/13/700/bnet.jpg
@Vexal: It very well might fit as "Show only Maps with Active player in Lobby". That is not the point. Its "Obvious" that my idea was not meant to be copied word-for-word. I'm not creating a blueprint here (and its not my place to do so) - so must you worry about how every sentence is phrased?
I've been wishing they would add a rating system so people could score a map, not just a "popularity" meter. Fun and Not Fun as well as the total bookmarks are close to that. I'm excited!

It won't be perfect, imo, until we can share our bookmarks. People spy on each others profiles too much, and seeing the custom maps that your friends like is a good incentive to play them.
They need to either add a good 20 or so category that all maps must use (drop down list in editor, though keeping a custom option), and let you filter with those rather than the 5 or so they currently have, as using custom for almost all maps, mainly because they dont fit nicely into the rest of the categories is a bad design. adding aos, hero defense, melee defense, dungeon crawl, hero arena, etc, would let maps fall into the correct category.
If they keep custom then everyone will just use that. Although they do need to add some basis. Should put up a poll on their site and see what are the most common map styles.
Alas, it seems that new interface came with a great price to it, we no longer have "Back" button, leaving us with less comfortable ways to navigate out of Custom Game menu..
So, how do we optimise a map for the new Fun Or Not function?
- It needs to have a lot of players.
- Players should not be able to die or lose in the first few minutes or they might ragequit.
- If a player is sufficiently angry, he'd choose 'broken' and your map disappears. (In fact I can see griefers that simply join games and mark every map as broken)
- Chances are if the map is competitive, people that lose will downvote it.
The large player count is unfortunately the opposite of what you want to do to keep a map popular...
I don't know where to ask this so I'll do it here...
Am I the only one experiencing lots of crashes and bugs since v1.3? My game keeps crashing, and it occurs quite often when I exit SC2... I'm also having an issue where the "fun or not?" vote after playing a map appears twice (before and after displaying the score screen). Oddly enough, my maps don't seem to be screwed up, despite what I've read in another topic for you guys... I'll need to check thoroughly for bugs, but as far as I can tell my maps are still working fine. Or at least no new bug appeared, so I'm crossing fingers.
Maybe I am the only one who wants this, but I would have liked to see a filter implemented to only show games which are currently being hosted. I think that would make getting a full game for a new or unpopular map easier.

@TheSkunk2: Go
Obviously.
You know what we need?
Join random active game.
That way, you join a random game who already has people inside (games originally created by players).
That would fix most of the mess, imo.
@Lonami: Go Well, if the mentioned check-box applied to all pages, thats what Fun Or Not would essentially do.
BTW, if nobody noticed I updated my other post: It could fit in between "category filter" and "Search all Maps" : http://static.sc2mapster.com/content/attachments/13/700/bnet.jpg

@Vexal: Go Well, no worries. I thought you seriously had a problem with my statement, which confused me.

Cmon, bookmarking fav mods/maps is cool... should be all that's warranted ;)
SEARCH BAR <3 IM SO HAPPY!! Now we can play maps without looking through 500 other useless maps :D

I love the new game variants..!

That's what everyone has been asking for since day 1. Without this, custom maps are broken.
