Exactly its not the first time hes been banned..... my opinion is and always has been that blizzard is a ban whore.... and posting just about anything can lead to a ban.. so when you go posting "OMFG F*@#ING Stupid pop system" I would expect that would lead to warning/ban. And since hes out of warnings......
There are dozens of people who moderate the forums, not just the community managers. There's a very good chance that the last bans he received weren't even the same people who banned him this time. His thread title was in caps which is usually enough to warrant a forum holiday.
Should've signed up to the EU forum. Nobody moderates that.
Don't be nitpicky. F"""" doesn't stand for "finally". Everyone and their mother know what it really means!
And in this case it doesn't matter what you "actually meant". It matters what everyone ELSE thinks you're writing.
Or else you could go around and whack your wang into random people's faces and then claim it could be a polite form of saying hello in your mothercountry. The police and people won't care and you'll still get punished for that!
Everyone who defends himself by saying that he actually meant something totally different and complains about Freedom of Speech in a privately owned forum has a loose screw.
I don't mind you advertising your map. In fact I find it good that you try to keep your debates popular by advertising it. I also don't mind you complaining about the popularity system.
But I DO mind that you now try to justify yourself with weak claims and total brainassery!
Please don't be offended, but don't you notice what junk you were talking there?
PS: Because there were problems in the past:
The above post doesn't reflect my opinion as a Mapster Mod but is my personal opinion as a fellow poster.
Now Blizzard bans map makers for having the letter F followed by stars
with no context? What's wrong with "finally you?"
The only thing wrong in here is the word in YOUR perverted mind. Now
"$@#@%^#$" can cause you to get banned. Great!
If you agree with this ban, $ #$%@#@$% @$#% you.
The swear word is clearly implied by context. You're only fooling yourself if you think it's not. You actually prove that in your last message. The message you are sending is quite clear.
Take it on the chin and actually learn from your mistake for once. While I do agree that this seems a little extreme, they did give you another chance. A normal person would have no problem not getting banned again after that.

Pocket Warriors - A pokemon-style game with SC2 units and full banking. New demo coming soon!
I got perma banned from the bnet forums about 2 months ago for "spamming/trolling". Funny thing is all i did was do a rage post about the popularity system on one of Blizzards news posts lol.
"If you agree with this ban, $ #$%@#@$% @$#% you."

Quite clear?!?!? Count the letters. I had said "I disagree with you." If you actually saw a swear word on that, you are the one fooling yourself.
Debates looks like a really creative and fun map, and at some point I would really like to try it (Unfortunately it doesn't work with 3 players), however constantly attempting to boost its popularity is unnecessary. It's out there and it seems people enjoy it, but, at the moment at least, it is a niche map.
When people decide they are in the mood to play Starcraft 2 they are looking for more action usually, and that isn't going to change until there is a large variety of different maps out there.
We all know the popularity system is broken, there is no point in trying to make a broken system work. Just move on to another map, and come back to Debates when the situation is more favourable. You are wasting your time and energy on this.
_
On the topic of the banning,
They cited forum rules, and if those are the rules there is no debate that you broke them (Lol, I would be amused if that became a Debates topic). Their citation said "masking profanity". Your contributions to the forum should not factor in to the application of forum rules. If Sixen went out tomorrow and spammed the forums with threads promoting sc2mapster, he should not go untouched simply because he is an MVP, especially if he had already been banned several times.
There is no reason to mask your post with symbols, especially something like "I disagree with".
Is it a mere coincidence that "I f#@&ing hate" also fills in the blanks?
Now I am at a loss, because if I censor my post you will take it out of context when you know exactly what I was saying, yet if I fill in the blanks, you'll report me.
For the record, I don't mind Debates but every experience I have had playing it has had leavers and trolls resulting in not enough legit players to play it properly. I understand you have taken measures to prevent this, but are limited by the current system.
I do sympathize with how the popularity system has hurt your map, but the trivialities of "I said x not y! It's your fault for thinking I said y." doesn't help gaining or retaining support for your maps.
I think Debates is becoming like the poster child of the anti popularity movement lol.
While were on the subject, I think more categories for custom games may help (so debates would be in 'social' category). We just need to do it in a way that facilitates movement. E.g. when you go on the Apple store on your iphone, you're presented a list of categories that each go into the list of apps (or popularity list for our sake). Whereas, in Bnet, you're already on the main list by default. At this point the user will likely just find a game. Only a small percent may switch category to TD/TUG or click Show more.
As for Debates' popularity, it's kind of like the movie industry. A studio will make mostly action movies because they sell to the masses, and the niche styles such as rom-com or thriller/drama will only make up a small % of their release. In this sense, Debates is in the niche, and will always have a tough time 'selling' so to say.
Screw that, Onetwo. Old system is many times over better than the system now. Theorizing and tinkering with ideas just leads to more disappointment. I personally am tired of Blizzard, stringing people along like a new hope and be below expectations almost every-time.
Also,
Blizz really should stop worrying about peoples behavior and start worrying about making a game that breaks average. Cata and SC2 pretty much define how gaming is going for Blizz. Underachievers, lazy, communist left tree huggin liberalists, and horrible with nurturing the community.
Blizzard should be sent to war for a couple months, it would sharpen them and the weak would die.
Rodrigo, I want to %$%^$^$%$ your map and put it %$#%$%# the $%$%$$% your mother would $%#%$%# and then %$#^#$# all her %$%$% ass %$%$% her %$%$.
Oh sorry, my hands flailed uncontrollably for a moment and made me press the worng buttans! let me retype that!
Rodrigo, I want to advertise your map and put at the top of the popularity list, so that your mother would be proud and then tell all her friends what a kick ass maper her son is.
Jokes aside, can't you take a moment longer with your bnet posts and make them a bit more polite and non-vulgar? Or is it really the only way you can express yourself? :]

Yessir, Sergeant Hartman, sir! Gorram pinko commies! Drop sum napalm on them!

That is a very interesting point. You should bring it up on that thread Sixen made, if you haven't already.

There is the reason to express anger. When I typed #$#@!@#$% on the forums, I didn't have any word in mind, I was just expressing anger. It's better to express it than to keep pretending everything is alright. If you keep being overly nice, one day you explode, and you have probably seen that happening many times. Do you remember RedWraith? That map maker Blizzard banned?
We all know the popularity system is broken, there is no point in trying

I did this. I made Nexus Word Wars and moved to it. The map was doing good, top 1 on battle.net, over 9,000 games/hour. Then, 1 week later, Blizzard bans it, and since then, the map is on the bottom of the list.
I once made a thread stating that people with communication problems (IE, autism) such as myself would be negatively impacted by a single account limit.
I screw up a lot when communicating with people. Not because I'd like to. Simply because I don't know how to do it correctly.
When I screw up for whatever reason, I make a new account.
I can't do that now. It makes playing this game significantly more stressful for me. I have to scrutinize every word I say to people in game. It takes me minutes to form a single sentence. And I still don't even do it right.
The ability to anonymously communicate with people made things much easier.
They deleted that thread for some reason. I emailed them asking why, and they never responded. It didn't anger me, but it was disappointing and frustrating.

Where is freedom of speech?

@RodrigoAlves: Go
Freedom of speech doesn't apply if it's a privately owned forum. You can't go into someone's house and yell, then claim freedom of speech.
With that said, I sympathize.

Welcome to the club boys!
Fish?
If I had said "BLIZZARD F YOU!" I would agree with the ban. But what I said was "About 10 kids said F you to me."
Now seriously, I post a lot of good stuff on the Blizz forums, do you really think I should be banned for that?
Quite clear?!?!? Count the letters. I had said "I disagree with you." If you actually saw a swear word on that, you are the one fooling yourself.
They delete or lock my posts all the time and I never cuss or use crude language on the forums. They never even tell me why.
I've never been suspended though.

That is a very interesting point. You should bring it up on that thread Sixen made, if you haven't already.
Don't you worry, that happens to many map makers. Bounty, Mephs, and I also had threads deleted for no reason.
This. The people's bad behavior is just a result of Blizzard ignoring the problem because they think map-makers are just a "passionate minority."
There is the reason to express anger. When I typed #$#@!@#$% on the forums, I didn't have any word in mind, I was just expressing anger.
