DAMN! Not for the 4th time!!!!!!!!!!
I just sent Blizzard an email:
Quote:
Dear Blizzard,
I don't understand the reason of my suspension. It seems I have been accused for inappropriate language, but the only bad word on that thread was "popularity system." I am one of the most active members on the custom map forums, and I was just talking about how hard is to get a game of Debates going. I am not the first map maker to open a thread QQing nor the last one. If I stay 1 week away from the forums, who is going to talk about Debates? So, please, consider this suspension.
Ps.: The email says I can be permanently removed from the World of Warcraft forums. That's fine for me as long as I don't get removed from the SC2 forums.
Ps 2.: Join the starcraft chat channel "debates" if you want to play Debates with me. We can definitely debate this suspension in game.
Thank you,
Rodrigo.
F! Blizzard definitely HATES ME!!
ps.: Mephs also got banned.
edit: Funny is that the week I thought they would show to the map-making community that they care by featuring unique and not-popular maps such as Debates and Smashcraft..... but no! They ban Mephs and I for complaining that Debates and Smashcraft are not popular, and feature an already-popular Tower Defense and a Tug map. Seriously?!
I swear to god, I won't be surprise if Blizzard features Nexus Wars next week.
edit 2: If I had said "BLIZZARD F YOU!" I would agree with the ban. But what I said was something like "about 10 kids said F you to me."
Now seriously, I post a lot of good stuff on the Blizz forums, do you really think I should be banned for that?
I saw the title and immediately thought 'Rodrigo got banned again?'. Then I saw the user and thought 'Hahahahaha'. Then I read the post and thought 'wait, does he think we care?'. Sorry, but all you seem to do is complain about Debates not being popular and that you got banned from somewhere again.
Honestly, your map is no good for Starcraft 2 and you should have binned the idea a while back. There is nothing wrong with the concept itself but it's not suited to the people who have purchased Starcraft 2 and is not a map that appeals to those who play the customs. Throwing these constant fits about the popularity list is rather childish when the failure of your map lies squarely on your own shoulders.
You can't just pull a random idea out of the air, make a map out of it, polish it up, and expect that people should enjoy it because it's bold and new. You chose to ignore the type of player that uses B.NET, stuck it out with a flawed concept, and now complain because they have no interest in your innovation.
Take the ban on the chin, bin your map, and work on something new.

Well, I would like to know if someone here gets banned, and I'm pretty sure someone here would like to know that Blizzard is reading the custom maps forums.
Forgetting about the drama... (getting ban sucks, hurts, is frustrating i agree... but it's not nearly your first, nor maybe uncalled for... the blizz forum is a 12 year old regimented place (like "team peepee", i might add) and i would say that's what their ban means in your case)
The interesting suject i would say is: ... the banning of "vocal or invested creative people"... in perspective with the sc2 pop system..?, no?
... and you are one of those (i think debates is a real creative map), so think constructively, Meph's rant got him his mod on page 1 (on eu at least)... (not that i condone it, on the contrary, but who cares i'm an old fart). i think that's a great subject to discuss/debate...
Debates is not "sc2" at all (and i think that's great by the way)... it's really a good idea/concept and i don't think it's the kind of map that blizz envisioned getting.. I'll always throw "props" to you for it... but... please don't maintain the "constant hurt teenager stance".. that's not useful and it gets no positive results. Just picture players doing it while playing your mod...
If anyone 's "original work" wants to be "successful" on sc2, it's either got to relate to sc2 "mainstream players".. or you have to build a community for it (if your mod gets players), niche maps will not be "popular" to your liking/apparent ego stance... for now..
Originality outed in the wrong place is gonna be real difficult to market
Again, Meph's mod is largely more for them, Debates is a trainwreck waiting to happen (i mean for blizz dealing with their customers playing it) because of the "freedom" of speech it provides the players... it's for grown ups (again i feel that's both GREAT but not "sc2" mainstream at all)...
glhf and debate, don't wine... aaahhh? ... wallow... (funsies typo)
You're a repeat offender who obviously didn't learn the first 3 times. You really expect our sympathy?
As an aside: you say in your post that you spent 2 hours inviting 300 people to play debates, and 3 people reporting you for spamming... because you were spamming. That's pretty much the definition of spamming.
You don't learn, and it seems like you never will. Your actions affect other people. Other people have a right to enjoy the forums, the chat rooms, and the IRC without dealing with your foul language and constant trolling to find players. I've been in a chat room when you've done that, and it's really annoying.

Pocket Warriors - A pokemon-style game with SC2 units and full banking. New demo coming soon!
Exactly its not the first time hes been banned..... my opinion is and always has been that blizzard is a ban whore.... and posting just about anything can lead to a ban.. so when you go posting "OMFG F*@#ING Stupid pop system" I would expect that would lead to warning/ban. And since hes out of warnings......

From an objective stand point, Blizz acted on the terms you agreed not to break.
hahahahaahahahahahahahaha
EDIT: I guess they do read the custom map forums.
Cant really say Im surprised for either of you. *Rolls eyes*.

Read? I got banned today because of a thread I OPENED TODAY!!!

What do you mean?
Also, unfortunately, Mephs is still posting. Not sure where you got the idea he was banned.
No drama.

He told me. But since his QQing thread was 1 week before mine, he's already back.

And what if it was an automated response from a bot that triggered when you included X amount of obscene words in your post?
Nay, Blizzard readeth not yonder forums.
