Ok, so I have the contact info for a staffer that's willing to entertain map related questions. Please post questions that you'd like to have answered here. And, to minimize the amount of sorting I have to go through, please keep the BS questions, trolling, etc. out of this thread. I'm trying to do this to help everyone!

- Are we allowed to use assets (specifically music) that is licensed under Creative Commons (and thus free to use) but is not our own creation?
- Are we allowed to publish non-winning maps (or those winning that did not get the Sponsor's "special attention" after the winners have been determined?
- Are we allowed to work as a team? (there seems to be confusion because only one person can submit the map, I'm confused too.)

PS: With map-releated you mean things like publishing system? In general it'd be nice to know if any patch for the popularity system or custom game lobbies is in the making.

- When submitting a map, are logo's/pictures/images/video clip's that we have created still ours? What if a company wanted to make a map and put a logo at the beginning of the map, for example, EA Games puts their video logo at the front of their map. (just an example)

Is the map has to be not released/ published anywhere? If it have to, can the submitted map be an updated version with new feature of an already released map that is not released anywhere ?

Ok, so... my intention is to ask all the questions and paste them into my first post (I should have reserved post #2 as well). I've already warned the staffer that I will be barraging her with questions and got a response back within a couple hours! WOOT! She said to bring them on. lol So, be sure to keep them coming!

@SaucySC: Go I can already answer that with some certainty since it is similar to a question that I asked. You'll have to contact their PR department for approval of any inclusion of material not-copyrighted by Blizz (that is, copyrighted by someone else). In your question however, I'm assuming that you also mean 'logos' that are not copyrighted... The reason that I asked is because Team Logos would be grounds for removal of the map and banning of an account per the Inappropriate Content Policy.... However, I am still going to ask everyone's questions and will post the answers to be certain (with the exception of duplicate or 'troll' questions). ;)

Actually just sent out the email with the questions asked and some more of my own. ;) I'll post them as I get them and will continue asking them in groups as they come in. I was going to go around and look for more questions throughout the entire mapping community (staredit, blizz forums, etc) but figured (hoped) enough people would make use of this and save me that trouble. XD

- Maps already published on Battle.net (but not very popular) are allowed to join the contest? These maps have to be removed from Battle.net?

- Can Blizzard use our maps as their own if we don't win the contest?

- If I just change the map name and loading screen, is it considered a new map?

- Can I submit more than one map?

MY questions are really similar as from the guys before:
-I would like to know if you can use a map which is not popular but published.
-i have changed ALOT on my map since last version, it even exchanged its genre.
But the terms say something about that it shall be original and totally new/unknown so i have no idea if it is too close to the published map
-If its allowed to take the new totally changed version for the contest without changing the name, or if i have to put it off from bnet. Of if its just possible to use it for the contest with a totally different name and or content
