This something is that we might finally have a concrete argument that even Activison - Blizzard's CEO cannot refute.
Here it is:
We now know what the final outcome of Activision - Blizzard's current business model will be. Because we have seen in play out on a very large scale already.
If any of you have been paying attention to Electronic Arts (EA) lately, you know that the policy of quick money grabs, milking acquired companies and genres dry, etc has finally caught up with them.
And EA finally figured out why:
Go to part 4.
EA has unveiled their new "Great Game Guarantee".
I had to read it twice. EA finally realized that the cause of their current situation (EA's CEO stepping down, them facing financial ruin, etc) was the decline in quality of their products. Cutting corners, not fixing issues when they arise, excessive DRM, not listening to customers, etc. A very wide range of things that has proven to be a bad idea.
People warned for years that this would happen. They even despaired of EA being "taught a lesson" and "getting what they deserved". Well the last word was the consumer's. Much of what was predicted has finally happened - even the severity of the disaster that has now befallen EA was predicted for years.
Now why this is important for us in the arcade?
Because this is almost the exact same model Activison - Blizzard is running. Its the exact some concept that occurred with the last Sim's DRM (something that probably destroyed the series) is the sort of general concept of Blizzard not doing jack squat about the arcade. About match making. About focusing on content for casuals.
Also about the horrible release of Diablo 3 in Korea, the Diablo 3 Real-Money Auction House, and now Titan which seems to be specifically designed as a milking machine.
It has now been proven what the final outcome of this business model, run by both Activision - Blizzard and EA is. It has taken longer than we expected (if any of us still believed it at this point) and the scenario will take even longer to play out with Activision - Blizzard.
But we now know it will play out. We now know the final outcome of this business model.
And now we can go to Blizzard and even Activision with an indisputable argument that they need to change their course. They need to adopt a new business model because the one they have now has now been proven to end in financial ruin. It will take a long time. But we now have a concrete precedent of the final outcome.
Yes I keep saying the same thing over and over again. But if this will not convince Activision - Blizzard that they need adopt the kind of business model that focuses on consumer satisfaction and quality over sheer profit then nothing will. We will simply just have to wait (a very long time) for the proven outcome to play out. And by then it will be too late.
StarCraft, WarCraft, Diablo etc will be ruined beyond repair by the time business model runs it's course. But we now know it will run it's course.
I'm never up to date with this sort of things, but I'm glad their ways were finally shown to be wrong. Their LOTR: BFME had so much potential and they never fixed the bugs nor gave it any attention. 1 patch was all they did and they never looked at it again, even with all the bugs and imbalance.
I highly doubt Blizzard will listen to any of that, though. They'll simply say «we're not EA», «we don't run like them» or a variant along those lines. Unfortunately, life is just like that: no matter how much you say it to them, people have to bash their heads into a wall before they realize they're blind.
Speaking of which, has anyone ever told you that you make the exact same grammar errors as TaintedWisp?
And your join date meshes quite smoothly with TaintedWisp's second banning?
That's quite a coincidence.
Hey would you look at this. He is here in this thread which is about what's happened to EA and how we can learn lessons from it that might be able to stave off what's happened in SC2.
Instead you are making an accusation with no evidence that is just trying to stir up trouble. I wonder if SC2mapster's moderators are going to step in and get this guy to lay off his pure trolling. I have said nothing offensive and so far this guy hasn't said anything of any relevance to the thread.
you said that two people make false claims, usually when you attack someone it is customary to show your evidence of your claims, otherwise they are false the moment you say the.
Nothing in your post is sourced. The onus of evidence is on the one making the claims. You made a bunch of claims, and cited no evidence.
There's your "logic and reason".
Hey Eiviyn I've got a game for you to play:
Its called "Find the clickable URL link on the very first post".
You have been harassing people with honest issues for a long time now and I really hope that SC2Mapster's moderators have enough back bone to let you take a break for a while. This is you doing pure trolling and derailing the thread.

I'm not "harassing" people; I'm "harassing" you. If you think the only way to defend your opinion is to try to silence your opposition, then you are going to have a harsh life ahead of you.
A youtube link to a gaming critic is evidence? Right.

dude don't feed the troll, they live on attention. if you stop giving him attenton he will stop. You are quite right that Blizzard will probably learn the error of their ways; WoW subs are falling rapidly, and they will probably get a brain and fix things soon.

FockeWulf, sc2mapster's latest clown, taking up the reigns of his predecessors, Synderguy and TaintedWisp.
Endlessly repeating fabricated nonsense as if he were getting paid to do so.
@Eiviyn: Go
links to Snyderguys or TW's Fabricated Nonsense? otherwise your a bad troll...
You're quite welcome to think that.
Speaking of which, has anyone ever told you that you make the exact same grammar errors as TaintedWisp?

Quite so, quite so, yet you still have posted no evidence and have only attacked someones character. bad troll is bad.
Hey I have an idea. How about you actually use logic and reason to prove my post wrong instead of making false claims.
You are just the resident troll. So far you don't quote sources, just make random claims like you actually knew something.

"Post evidence" that I think someone is a fool? What planet do you live on, TaintedWisp?

@FenixKissKerrigan: Go
Fair enough. I was just worried that people around here were actually taking him seriously. If that's not the case, then no problem.
