It's an Arbiter/Shuttle/Reaver crossover! :D Hence, I shall call it Arshure!
It can cloak itself, shots ground with electrical charges around and it can engage in Planet cracker beam mode. When in it, Arshure heats up for 5 seconds and shoot from the center of the circle thingy directly to the ground, Air is not affected. While loading up it and can't move, when beam fires Arshure have 0.5 speed. Cracker lasts 5 seconds and deals 40 damage per sec (200 overall), have 20 second cooldown (Arshure starts without cooldown). Usage of cloaking device deactivates cracker, after decloaking cracker is cooldown'd.
I think they won't do that, coz shields regenerate rather quickly now. Also, imagine Void Ray rush with This. I'm not saying it won't be cool to have one of this thingies tho. ;)
Edit: Sry for double :( I'm used to post merging from another site.

Or something like that. :D
if this were a terran unit, it would be called 'The Crackler"
@ZealNaga: Go Maybe a upgrade for the interceptor or another unit for the carrier to use.
Well... Interceptors themselves are good enough, if you ask me. Personally I'm just frustrated when 3+ Carriers get killed by 20+ marines without being able to do much damage. It makes no sense to me, and same goes for the Battlecruiser... If only they had something like the Immortals shield to protect them, it could be just enough... That, or a +5 armor bonus like Ultralisks do. They're really expensive, considering how easy it is to put them down with upgraded tier 1 units. By the time you build your first, the enemy already has more than enough ground-to-air units to shoot it without suffering that much loss.
Anyway, about the HotS new unit itself now, it can be pretty useful if it adds shield regeneration. If it acts just like a Medivac but for infantry units shields, it can be pretty annoying in early and middle game for the enemy... and you couldn't rush with them and Void Rays because I assume it won't regenerate vehicles. Yet, I think if there is a race that needs better defenses in early game, it's the Zerg. I hope they'll add the Lurker but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to spawn them before you get Hydralisks + an upgrade to unlock the Lurker morph, which is both time-consuming and expensive.

Mothership? those are a myth right, i mean if you've seen one .. you've seen them all right? (just kidding :^) you are right)
thank you for the drawing mister E :-)
an arbiter..? wouldn't that spell the doom of the mothership ?
a shield battery..? wouldn't that spell the doom of balance (hahahahahahhahahahahahahaha.. still laughing, seriously probably impossible to balance.. oooo wait.. make it like the mofo.. make it unique (re hahahahhahahahhahhahahahahahaha) ... hrmm hrmm sorry :^)
air reaver seems the best bet yet (best as in what blizz should do.. not what they will do :^p )

It's like saying a Medivac is overpowered... It makes no sense to blame the Protoss race over and over again (it was true when SC2 came out, but this speech is getting old already). Medivacs help units getting their health back (it's as unfair as it can be, don't you think?), and yet sometimes it's not enough to win. I can't see any reason why doing the same with Protoss shields will make the game imbalanced. Zerg heal themselves over time and have the Heal ability from the Queens, Terrans heal with Medivacs (or SCVs for vehicles), so why not Protoss having an improved shield regeneration under certain conditions too? If there is a new unit giving shields back, you can be pretty sure it will only work with limitations (maybe draining the unit's shields to spread it to the targeted units, or something like that).
What could an air Reaver bring to the game anyway? Destroying buildings faster? Exploding air units in a blink? THAT would be imbalanced, other races don't have the weapons to counter it (Scourges for Zergs maybe, but what about Terrans?).
Love passionate people..
..don't mind me, i was kidding (the tedious blizz "years in advance hints" make me do it) about the shield baterry :^)
personally i could never understand (besides making the game more "new user friendly") why such a gameplay mechanic was dropped from star1.. come to think of it, why were there any gameplay mechanic dropped?
shield recharging/maelstrom/burrowed attacks (lurker/spider mines)/dark swarm/consume/plaguU/scarab aoe attack/lockdown/statis field/permanent mind control...
(the others are still there, just changed around)
anyone of those has its place in star2 :^) providing the 3 races have equal awesomeness to act with
ps: my point still stands that the balancing act is going to be a bia tch of a job to do on any one of those abilities for it to work (and this over a long ass period of time)...
And knowing blizz from "what they've done so far (allocating very few resources (comparatively) to the issue)" .. i would say the shield battery is an unlikely addition (as spoof proof of what i'm saying : arbiterS in star1 / only 1 arbiter in star2..
ps2: o0O! forgot to mention i think each expansion will be op for its tittle bearer.. so yes, WoL is terran op, and marine medivacs are kinda all you need
"; ^))
Get enough Broodlords or Banelings and the Marines become a bloody carpet.... literally.
There are other ways, just can't think of them at the moment.
Anyway, I think we've established that it looks like a flyer but....is it just me....or does it kinda look like a "scythe arms of an ultralisk"-shaped thing?

"As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality."
I'm going to throw 2 easy ideas about this one
1 - It's Narezim (Dark Templar). It's style is more primal, and its "mid action" pose almost reminds me of the Corsair; which was also Narezim.
2 - It's a support unit. It looks like a caster. Hard core. It's too lanky and overly frilly to be a full combat unit. This is a standard issue with Blizzard design artists. Casters stick out. If I see a protoss fleet with this in it, I'm pretty sure I'd wanna' target it first because I assume it's a caster.
With that said, I don't know what kind've casting it may do. Protoss Generally rely on their Sentries and High Templars for some hard core casting; their Mothership usually just daddling behind. Compared to Terran units, Protoss casters seem a bit more shallowed; soft. HTs are awesome yes, but there is nothing more intimidating than a small fleet Ravens flying into ones base, dropping PDDs and or Turrets/H Missiles everywhere. Like wise, Sentries are cool n' all with Guardian Shield and some nifty FFs but, they suck vs ONE spell that a Ghost has... EMP. This unit, if it's caster, might be an easy 3rd Tier caster, with some hefty abilities like say, mass Haste or some sort of Nuking spell.
@jaxter184: Go I believe you're right, checking the other SC1 and BW units, they aren't that different from their originals, maybe except for bigger Marauder-like Firebats and the new Carrier, which is actually a retextured Tempest.

Its so a corsair.. or it looks like / attacks just like one.
Looks pretty bad, but I agree with the sentiment of it being a Corsair kind of unit, this might mean the Phoenix will get removed or changed.

It was sarcasm/ hyperbolization. <cough>Terran is OP</cough> There's also ultras and collosi. I think thors do well too.

chrono boosting units.. the idea has been around for long.. and is awesome (imagine a collosus firing constantly = very funny)
