But you care enough to point that out? Does that mean you don't care about what I think about what you think, but do want to give me a response?
That just means you just say I sound like something, and I'll sound how I want to sound and in no way I feel my arguments lose any value because of that.
If you really dislike 'Blizzard's decisions about gameplay-related lore changes during recent years', then point out what you dislike. A couple of clear examples, I mean. My claim is that there has factually been very little change from SC1, a game which I guess you'd hold in high regard lorewise, and that you're simply falling for the old untrue "everything used to be better in the old days" feeling that's inspired purely by nostalgia and dislike for everything new.
I will keep it to the related topic. Units' origins stay the same, they can't vary much for Zerg, and that's not the actual flaw here. The main difference between SC1 and SC2 in this case is that all SC1 units had a very long time to get to the point we saw them, ever since the Xel'Naga started directing their evolution. But for SC2 we kow we have only 4 years unless you come with some good idea to tell us these new units were actually assimilated before BW but only now are used by the Zerg broods. My point here is the SC universe is huge and complex and Blizzard could explore 'hooks' and other storylines to give us better explanations. I can't believe saying 'roaches come from I-dont-know-what-slugs found around 4 years ago' is the best they could have done.
So basically, what you're saying is: "Zerg in Starcraft 1 have had plenty of time to evolve the creatures we see in there, yet in Starcraft 2 they've been evolved in a short timespan" - is that it? I still can't say I see much difference. If you check out the info on Zerglings, it'll simply state that they 'were evolved from the Zz'gashi Dunerunners'. It says exactly the same thing for Roaches, except there's a different name in there. All Zerg lifeforms have simply at some point randomly been evolved from fauna. There may have been a difference in evolving time, but I can't say I've ever had the idea that taking an existing lifeform and assimilating/mutating it to a Zerg lifeform takes more than a year, tops. For as far as I've gathered, it's finding creatures suitable for mutation that takes so long, not as much as the evolving process. With that, said, taking four years to evolve Banelings, Infestors, Roaches, Corruptors, Overseers and Broodlings, especially when considering that three of those were mutated from existing Zerg strains. You could easily say Zerg simply spent those four years launching expeditions to all sorts of places, causing them to find what would later become the Infestor, Roach and Corruptor.

@SoulFilcher: Go

@Mozared: Go Well, with that much being said already, let's move on while we both keep our lore'related preferences. :-)
SWARMHOST
'we're probably not going to make any more units for the expansion.'
Yea sure Blizzard....
