So what I'm getting from this is that your map got banned for using a
curse word? Wow my map, a day at school rpg, has a couple vulgar terms
and some drug references. Oh also you'll be killing cops and teachers,
thats pretty inappropriate if you ask me, does this mean i'll have to
scrap my map?
No! Just change the vulgar words to something silly and strange like you would see a childs cartoon, change the drug use to like cotton candy abuse and change the killing to 'teching them a lesson' and you should be good to go! :D
lol, suger addictions are serious business! Also the working version of the map is on page 5 ATM its the one with the !, theres a version on page 4 that does not even start(says map dosent exist) hopefully they delete that version so people keep looking :)
Your map wasn't removed because of cursing or dirty imagery(I think). When I loaded this up in the editor and tried it out my computer ground to a stand-still when the stalkers got to the command center. There were events firing WAY to often and my frame-rate dropped to 1-2 per second (nvidia 275, 8gb of ram, i7 processor). In my opinion "inappropriate content" here is the fact that it interrupts game-play for their customers by exhausting to many resources and slowing frame-rates substantially.
3) Add-ons must not negatively impact World of Warcraft realms or other players.
Add-ons will perform no function which, in Blizzard Entertainment's sole discretion, negatively impacts the performance of the World of Warcraft realms or otherwise negatively affects the game for other players. For example, this includes but is not limited to excessive use of the chat system, unnecessary loading from the hard disk, and slow frame rates.

I'm pretty sure they don't care about your "Bad-Ass Wave", but more about how you are affecting their customer's computers with content downloaded from their servers.
I honestly donno where you got the lag from, the current version of the map has elimiated most of all the lag there was and the only lag I ever experianced on the game that was during the 'double waves' and such the version on Mapster is not up to date currently and the version you probally played was the one where I had 8 triggers running whenever a unit attacked, that was removed before I put the game out.
The version they deleted actually had double waves removed because of lag issues, the current version has very little lag(except for the queen level for some reason)

This is hardly front-page news... =\
I really really doubt Blizzard would delete someone's map just because someone's PC can't handle it.
And just because world of warcraft has this, doesn't mean it'll run the same rules.
THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODS AND ADDONS.
MAPS =/= UI
Also note, Blizzard can't control the modding community, they'll make what they want to make.
They only have control in their map publishing systems, which is what they created in the first place, to control their games.
So it's not even about piracy anymore, it's skyrocketed to total control of the games themselves.
I was wondering why they bothered to make the "Show More" button that appears when you scroll maps...
Then came upon this idea:
What if Blizzard is looking to get premium maps, and display them at the top, since "Premium" maps have to be unique AND "Popular".
This will make every single player who view the maps, to see the "advertisement" since it appears at the top...
I'm starting to think that Blizzard has more in store for us, they could have some more hidden aces up their sleeves.
I'm also starting to think that Starcraft 2 won't survive a few years without gaining enough popularity over the months... One reason is that the hype that has been surrounding it, is dying off, but for me, a Beta player, it's already gone. So the only good piece in the game would be the campaign, and afterward, the game becomes extremely dulled.
I have made some changes to the terrain and pathing so a certian symbol dosen't appear on the mini-map, the path is slightly shorter so i reduced the movement speed of all waves by a teeny tiny amount to make up for this. It should be up sometime to night hopefully.

Starcraft 2 =/= World of Warcraft
The only reason that's even there is so Blizzard doesn't get spammed by retarded players asking why their game lags so much. Not to mention WoW is designed to rake in as much cash as possible by being able to be played on something as powerful as todays phones (exaggeration). Plus, I want to believe that people would QQ to the map makers, not Blizz. But, I could be wrong..
I doubt it was lag that got the map banned. He DID say that blizzard emailed him and said "the map had inappropriate content". I doubt that lag would count as inappropriate. But whats pathetic is WE ARE ALL HERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!! We shouldnt be doing this! Blizzard should have made a statement about what is ok/not ok. UGggghhgghghghghghhhh >.<

Feel free to Send me a PM if you have any questions/concerns!
Blizzard thinks that it is their RIGHTS to not reveal to you any reason to their actions. They think if they do something, they don't have to answer your questions, unless forced of course, but by then they would respond with more actions.
I think I need to go switch badass to tough or strong from my map if that was the reason blizz deleted your map xD
And hey I need to switch assassin too because it got 2 BAD WORDS! =D
I don't know your map (yeh, sorry 'bout that :P) but I cannot imagine Blizzard deleting the map because of the use of the word "badass". I can clearly
recall hearing that word quite often in SP and even more vulgar things are said (in the very first video-sequence for example).
Words used in the campaign are not things we're going to action for.
The map that was removed, and for which this thread exists, WAS NOT removed for using the words 'bad ass'. But we're not going to publicly release why or for what reasons we do remove maps. If the map maker receives that information and chooses to do so, then so be it. That's their discretion.
We're working on improving our processes to ensure the map maker has more information on why their map was removed, right now it is a bit vague and has obviously led to this misunderstanding.
pathing from units vaguely in the shape of anti-semantic figure accidentally put in the map caused the map maker to be banned from releasing any maps without warning?
guess thats how activision can further increase revenues? by making map makers buy several accounts to publish maps, in case on of their maps accidentally has some units move in certain directions?

Well this IS blizzard we're talking about. Corporations can be unpredictable, and consumers are usually played right into their hands...

But the Strip maps of japanese porn stars and the movie maps were some of my favorites!
