Some sort of dungeon randomization? Making simpler systems (after all it IS newbie wed) like spawning monsters, healing shrines, buff shrines, hell even camera and gameplay like diablo should be fun (although it has been done many times before).
Making spells like in D3, or just take a few spells and recreate them or you can go to stuff like character leveling up, gear equipping + applying stats from them and such things. Or even making mobs drop items and you can pick them.
So....this Wednesday happens to be the 4th of July. Me and the rest of the Americans will be celebrating over 200 years of being the best nation ever....More or less ;) So no show on the 4th, but things will be back next week as usual. I'll probably go over creating DOTA style gameplay next week.

Sorry guys- I had to restart my computer earlier and it decided to just not turn back on. It's just now getting back online, but its running so poorly that theres no way i can even open the editor, let alone stream. I'm actually writing this from my iPad (so I'm sure it's full of apelling mistakes) >.> I apologize to anybody who may have been looking foward to the show, if there are any people who actually were ;) That said, feel free to send me a pm if you have a question, and I'll get around to it once everything is working again.
Edit2- okay... I swear I'm just down on computer luck these last few weeks....I finally got everything working again yesterday, and then...Computer's being weird, let's just say that....
Alright- the computer's finally working and I should be able to stream, barring any horribly unforeseen circumstances. We'll kick things off in about an hour from this post (That's 8:30 Pm GMT-8). I'll be going over how to create Dota style maps, and the most important pieces of creating one; namely hero/ability creation and creep waves. Sorry for the show slowing down in the last few weeks, I've had some bad luck with a few technical problems (power outages, graphics card not working, OS not working, computer not turning on, etc....) but I seem to have gotten things more or less stable once again ;)
Feel free to post here or send me a PM if you've got a request or suggestion for a topic.

I'm having a problem with 3ds max and the .m3 exporter/importer scripts.
I placed them in the plugins/startup script locations, and every time I import a model the textures don't apply. I've added the paths to the textures in the user paths directory, but I still have to go back and add each material in and apply it.
The more pressing matter, however, is the exporter. Everytime I export a model I get an error saying "File not Found!" Nothing more... What do I do?
The heroes tab seems to be heavily linked to User Types....Which is actually what I'll be going over. I'll poke around in some other areas as well, but we'll start with a Diablo-style item generation system using user types. It's quite similar to Diablo's system in the fact that about 90% of the items that are generated are total junk ;)

How would you get a trigger to recognize your resources/minerals/vespene etc
Example: Event: Player 1 has more than or equal to 50 vespene
It would be very nice to get an event to do just that.

Creating an event like that is not exactly possible. There is an easy alternative, though- Just use a player property changes event with a condition that checks 'player property'. I'll send you a PM with more details.
That would take all of 2 minutes :P It's just creating a "Model Addition" actor.
I don't really have anything that's been asked recently in a PM or on this thread. I could do a general 'tuning up your triggers' type of thing, but I'd rather do something more relevant if you guys have any requests.
Edit: As a heads up, there's a small chance I may not be able to do the show tomorrow. :/
In the interest of keeping you all well-informed, I'm letting you know that it's unlikely I'll able to do a show next week (the 15th) as I'm going back to school and will be quite busy. I plan on continuing the show in the future, but I think the first few weeks are going to be a bit crazy for me.
