The title says it all. I am on the SEA server and I want to modify an arcade map that is uploaded already. I will give the original maker all credit and if possible only make the upload private so I can play with friends. Thanks for your answers ( I hope it is possible!)
You can't open locked maps (directly). But non-locked maps can be opened by everyone. Then you can edit them and upload your own version of it with another name.
There's some very rigorous stuff you can do to modify protected map. It requires searching through the Temporary files that SC2 writes...Which most of the time it's not worth it.
To search for maps in the SC2 editor, make sure you change what your searching for from "Blizzard Maps" to "All Maps"

So how can I tell if they are locked/unlocked and how do I open them if they are unlocked? (not directly?)
I have tried searching for maps before through the editor, but I can only ever find blizzard maps?
You kinda can...

doesn't this only come up with custom maps? I want arcade maps/games
No, Arcade games are also stored locally.

Arcade maps show up too, but authors of arcade maps might tend to lock their maps more often than melee authors due to obvious reasons.
