To get images to work I think you have to give it a tooltip, sadly it seems mouse enter/exit only works on dialog items that obstruct your mouse (so you can't click anything in the game behind that item)
@DogmaiSEA
Use the dialog item type Panel for dialog item templates, it seems to work fine for me.
While we're on this topic, it's really annoying how you get that "trying to multiply/divide by zero" warning. Sometimes the input value needs to be 0, and the game correctly returns 0 as the result, but (pointlessly) warns you anyway.
Luckily, there is the "hide trigger errors" flag :D
Which also hides legitimate errors, so isn't really wise to disable even for released content.
Well, I disable them for release versions usually. There are other fake errors, for example, when changing certain catalog fields (field changes work just fine, but it still shows errors).
The system *should* give a warning for dividing by zero. That's not a Blizzard thing, that's a math thing.
I'm also seeing many dialog warnings/errors...haven't delved into the specifics of them yet but they don't seem to affect functionality. I hate to turn off "trigger errors" flag because I still want players to send me replays with valid errors when they occur.
EDIT: Most of the dialog warnings I have fixed by eliminating any calls to dialog items (such as Show/Hide Dialog Item) that were never actually instantiated (i.e. old code that was not properly cleared out). It seems that these calls would silently fail before patch 1.4 but now I am seeing the warnings. I also saw a warning related to a minimap not being a cImage. I changed this to Panel, and the error went away.
I'm also seeing Camera Rotation issues...it's jerky. This is a big bummer and needs to be fixed ASAP.
It was nice that Blizzard updated the editor and fixed some bugs, but this is annoying to say the least.
After doing a few tests on patch 1.4, I've noticed that things are actually working faster than before on battle.net. WASD movement responds faster, and my drag and drop system is far far less "skippy". Anyone else experiencing this?
I thought it was just me ... the first thing I noticed is that it seemed to be faster now, not considerable, but enough to see the difference. I thought it was just my eyes or wishful thinking, or the fact that I was on SEA again. But opening and closing bnet UI in game appears to be much faster.
As I said in the first post, before I lost my way a bit, this patch is awesome. If my only two wishes now are for non-game related editor changes (a bit better debug and not minimizing everything), then you know Blizzard has done an amazing job. I got pretty much everything I ever wanted in this patch without asking, which is a huge props to the guys who do the editor.
There are a few things I would have liked to have seen included but I believe they will come at a later date (a few have been commented on by blizzard already).
Ability to get real time + date of the server.
Ability to get player's computer time + date.
Ability to get server ID (I believe we already have access to this one, as the first number on a player's ID appears to be the server ...)
1 = NA .... 2 = EU .... 6 = SEA
I am not sure what others are, I only have those three on my computer.
It appears that the ID 1-S2-1-000000 means 1 (Server ID) - S2 (Starcraft 2) - 1 (Expansion 1?) - 000000 (Incremental number of registering, so some one might have 1, someone might have 238 and someone might have 2043895). My SEA account is in the low 70,XXX, where my NA account is over 2 million.
Ability to query language of a player as string, ie - zhCN, zhTW, enUS, enGB etc.
Server side bank files.
I would like a global bank file though, ie kept in my account, that could be referenced by any running game, so you could get live statistics whilst playing, see how many other games are being played at the same time, etc. I think this is one of the big ones where something similar might be introduced for Blizzard Dota.
personally i think the new layout for the data editor is a peice of shit! what was wrong with the old one? it was perfect and easy to use now its all cramed together and it just SUCKS!
What's crammed together? The tabs were crammed together before and they aren't anymore so I don't understand what you're talking about..
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Stuff I've worked on: Carbot's StarCrafts Mod (2014-present) StarCraft 2 Hotkey Trainer (2010) | Mineralz Evolution (2011+) | Dungeon Legacy (2013+) | Phoenix TLMC 4 Entry (2014) Assisted: City of Tempest (2012) | BarCraft (2013) | Poker Defense (2014) and a few more.

Errr...It's quite the opposite, actually?
I think it's far less crammed togther! More space to see all the tabs, I personally like the change.
It turns out we just went a little bit nuts that all these things changed. Personally, it'll take some getting used to, but I think all these changes are for the best.

That would indeed be welcome, many maps have had some kind of stat tracking (SotIS, Mafia, etc.), and would otherwise do well with this feature. How hard can it be to adapt the system used for ladder to other custom games?
Item abilities configured as transient will no longer interrupt existing orders.
Item abilities still broken, if i make transient ability, i can't target unit or ground, it's say me "target out of range", i can use it only if target in range of ability.
It's work, but why filters does not work on text actors and others??? So hard to fix it, yes Blizzard so busy... They fixed one actor, but rest of them are still broken... I want to show text actor only for self or ally, but i must use annoying triggers for this...yea, where i get error "so many threads".
And this is after one year since release of Starcraft 2...
Triggers that reference "No Dialog Item" will return a warning in-game. This is not an error, just a warning. A very annoying one.
Triggers that reference dialog settings with no setting will return a warning. For example, "If Minimum Value = 0" will return a warning if you did not ever give the dialog a minimum value.
Many various other dialog warnings that come up
this has been a PITA for me atm, im literally just scanning through my triggers, adding if then else checks to see if the dialog exists. =S what a day. oh well.

Wow, did they really do this to piss us all off, or what?

Just opened the editor after the new patch.
Wow, why is everything so white?
How can I disable this?! It's annoying!
EDIT: You have to switch layers at least once for it to go away. What the heck?

This happened to me before.

Input delay has been getting better with each successive patch. It's likely that they will continue to improve it until Blizzard DOTA comes out.

My custom UI chat box and time box position reseted. My map popularity jump under 9 hour from 160 hour to 0 seconds. (and the map isnt bugged)
(now its popularity is back, but seems like some other maps having the same stuff with its popularity)
It's a "math" thing when you're in high school. If there are 6 applies in a basket, and I have 0 baskets, how many apples do I have?

Thats multiplication. Not division.
I just cant imagine a situation where deliberate division by zero is desirable. Especially if division by zero causes a thread crash (does it?).
