SC2Mapster, you're great and all, but you're missing one crucial feature... (By the way, anyone know a better alternative to this awesome website?)
Where's my subscription/alert? This website has extensive features but none can be subscribed to. You aren't alerted if there were any replies/comments on your thread/post/project/etc.
Don't you think this is killing the activity of this forums? The fact that members can easily forget threads since they can't track every one manually?

Yeah i totally agree, everytime i have to check the 666 thousand threads that i am following D:,let's do a votation my vote is for the propost of Vicboy
(By the way, anyone know a better alternative to this awesome website?)
Then perhaps a different website could be found?
Its not that bad really, just really annoying...
EDIT: I'm sure I could learn PHP and design a new website, unless someone else has a better suggestion. or mabye someone could actually conttact curse?
That's sad. This site is doing its best to be THE SC2 editor forums but your superiors won't even take care of you?
I don't think Curse deserves this much traffic if so. The people working on this website should just move to other potential forums, there's nothing fruitful about a website that has your superior down your throat. (Yeah, who was that guy who stepped down because Curse didn't like him?)
I'd recommend HiveWorkshop for assets and TheHelper for tutorials, they delivered that during WC3.
Either way, just goes to show how dead the SC2 arcade community is...

I totally agree on both points. I know an up and coming site that looks promising called EnGamer which does have this feature, is being worked on, and is starting to move its focus to "indie" games, stuff like the starcraft 2 mods/maps.
I suggest a MAJOR NO. Why would you use a place with war3 die hards (who in most cases didn't even buy it as they play Garena?) - Most from philipines and Asian countries where war3 is still not completely dead (and yet full of beggars who don't contribute with anything). And a place that has no intention to move on to any newer game Blizz or non-Blizz.
P.S I just saw you are from Philippines, well grand surpris that you offer Hive... (nothing personal)..
I've tried numerous times to convince them to change this place, squeeze war3 but if they want it to remain War3 place, leave it. Also full of trolls,. Just forget that awful place, I've had enough of it for several years, old war3 times were good there, now - No!
SC2Mapster community at least doesn't have all that and is the best so far (I don't use others but I know SCLegacy and such may be also good).
Subscription I avoid by simply typing in the search the thread I wanna find. My issue with the site is that I cannot get my darn rename, that the forum has many functions missing - from some proper forum codes, trigger codes, better skin, better layout. But yeah curse Curse, they don't even have a SC2 team do they? - I follow esports and I have never heard of such team in SC2 (or war3 melee in the past)... so ugh there they are *thumb down*
Isnt there like a free boards or something where things can be moved on?
I am unaware of the status quo there ever since I migrated to SC2Mapster. (That was when SC2 Beta was released).
I offered Hive because of my past experience there.
Could you expound on what you said about them being beggars? I feel offended for some reason.
Anyway. I doubt a free board will take SC2Mapster's popularity. A website we need is one that has a front page and an asset page. Also come on, there's a fucking StarCraft 2 hyperlink now. (starcraft://1/123312)
Why hasn't a website taken advantage of this? Why hasn't a website made an EpicWar.com of that feature? Hell, it seems like a good idea but SC2Mapster, the forefront of the SC2 Arcade community, is taking no course to fucking progress.

Nothing I guess, I call beggars those who spam 10 emoticons, have awful English (as in written with the toes) and combined with emoticon spam becomes annoying, not talking about any specific nationality. So by not having emoticons here like the ones there, this place is free of such threads.
But yeah I am for some rework on the site but it seems it's up to Curse gaming, one cannot even change things like User name rename, see your own posts or started threads, and stuff like that because of how they designed their forum and I've never seen so ... wrongly designed forum - just using some codes, you write / / or * * and it bolds, italics etc your text, not to say it looks so bland..
Speaking of popularity, it comes from Mapster as a known devoted to SC2 place, I'm sure it's not coming from Curse as I am sure barely anyone who comes over here knows what Curse gaming is and that's good - no one needs to know them anyway.
That's some hasty generalization though. I've seen talented modelers and mappers who have really poor English. Though I have to agree, I hate it when people abuse smileys.
Other than the admirable efforts of the administrative team to maintain this website with articles and a proactive community, everything else in SC2Mapster reeks of entropy. This website needs to address several shortcomings and add features that take full advantage of what SC2 has to offer... *ahem* map links...
I mean come on, we have an assets section and a map section but none are optimized... Okay, maybe what I'm saying is that I hate the layout.
But seriously, where's my thread subscription?

I like staredit.net's website's functionality/look. But it is very inactive.
And as for features, I think a store, like staredit.net's, would be nice. You earn minerals by contests and helpfulness, and spend them on things like color in names, titles, and signatures.

I think that's exactly what should not be there... THW has similar things and all stupid threads created there turn into reputation fests, they talk about reputation points, gems, badges, icons of helpfulness since they obviously suck at playing anything they obviously have to show their e-peen from something so useless as reputation, shiny gems and icons - when in fact those were gained often not from helpfulness but from rep begging or friend of the friend of the friend. Do we need this here? No!
When I see distinguished terrainers or modelers here it is because of their threads and things they post, not because of shoddy gems...
Honestly, from the WC3 mapping sites Thehelper used to have the nicest community (Best moderators and admins), WC3C the most elitist with highest standards regarding submissions, and THW had the rest. Though the rest also meant that they had a huge amount of content, most of the triggering/coding and 3rd party tools on that site were garbage but it was the go to site for any art work.
The problem is that all three tried to embrace SC2 as everyone thought it would be a continuation of WC3 mapping but with fewer limitations and a new game with more players. Blizzard fucked up and pretty much the entire mapping community died and barely anyone played the maps online.
They all have SC2 forums which had a great deal of activity during the beta, but when the system was released they all died because not even the long time WC3 mappers could stand the system. We just ended up breaking stuff for a while having Blizzard to fix it.

Completely agree.
Would be awesome, maybe if people keep posting here Curse will eventually add it.
Yeah this websites system really sucks... They definitely need to add a notifacation system, I cant keep track of anything here....
Yeah i totally agree, everytime i have to check the 666 thousand threads that i am following D:,let's do a votation my vote is for the propost of Vicboy
Its that hard to keep track of stuff?.
Curse does not really care too much about upgrading the site's functionality. So, while its a good suggestion, it wont happen.

Mapster is currently running on Curse's CurseForge home-made software, which is no longer being developed, so... Yeah, :(.

Yep, I think about 3-4 SC sites aren't completely dead, including the official forums, and this is the only one for mapping.

You don't earn minerals from posts (reputation is separate) on staredit.net.

SC2 was released with pointers, people broke them, see http://www.thehelper.net/threads/galaxy-parser.131690/ and http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/galaxy-scripting-and-trigger-lib/16195-galaxy-101/ "No pointer Since patch 9, pointer were all removed. With the above lack of new or malloc, pointer were quite limited to begin with.", though that thread doesn't detail what happened it has now been lost since SC2mod is down.
The WC3 forums all tried to launch into SC2 space. WC3C had http://www.sc2c.org/index.php Thelper had a SC2 forum, a tutorials site similar to their WC3 one (http://starcraft-2-galaxy-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/tutorials.php) THW launched pretty much of copy of their WC3 system but tailored for SC2
Gex (Made YouTD, Castle Fight) launched SC2Mod.com with his Andromeda language.
