How much does file-size matter on a map or MOD?
I want players to be able to download the file without too much problem when a game is hosted in SC2.
Is there a difference between 2mb, 5mb and 10mb? Or are we just talking a few extra seconds in download time?
Blizzard provides the map download rather than the host. This means that you're always downloading the map from a server-grade connection.
WC3 days was different. The host was providing the map download and a 3mb map could be a pain in the ass compared to a 500kb map.
But this is SC2, and I could download a 10mb map and still feel like I was downloading a 1mb map.
Member since 2010. Made the -The Thing- [Revival] game. Nostalgic of the WC3 days.
I've 100Mbit down and can download any map within a few seconds, it all depends on the players download speed.
