LotV will bring a spike in the number of folks interested in the game. Many will burn through the campaign and want more content beyond Laddering, both single and multiplayer alike. This is a good opportunity to grow that will most likely not happen again! After the campaign has run its course within a couple weeks, we all can help spread the word, post on other forums, and make the excitement infectious. Most importantly, be welcoming to anyone new who stops by!

Well, I've wrote the preview article and pretty sure intend write a review article on the campaign, which I hope it's a positive one. But given the tilesets and assets, as well as return of nostalgic values, I can safely say it's above HotS level. Now, all that remains is the story itself.
/edit We should also take the chance to announce the site and spread the word on campaigns like EivindL's trilogy, the Annihilation and Odyssey campaigns, as well as the promised return of LotC.
All about the promotion!! I keep an eye on the SC2 forums to refer people to Mapster as well as on the reddit starcraft thread. Are there other places to keep an eye out for?
I like to refer to people to this site cause reddit is a mess. I have send some players and they get back to me with the sc2mapsters is very organize reddit is not so clear where to find things like better info about maps.
We need to contact SC-related personalities like Day9, HuskyStarCraft (WTF happened to him ?), PSY (DED i think) and many others, like TakeTV... Then Spam on Bnet, liquipedia, steam (why not :D), Reddit... Every new forum will be linked here, so we can add to him likes (so lame, but it should work) so it gains attention :)
I think Bnet is our best bet. Reddit is also a good choice with the most potential for getting noticed, but it's totally luck based if posts get off the ground or not. The starcraft subreddit is quite fickle with what it likes and hates. Again, Bnet may be a good focus, just stay away from the Story/Lore subforums... never go there for it is a dark place...
I have no idea how to get in contact with any current personalities. Jakatak may be a good choice since he's small enough that he wouldn't ignore a communication from folks. Lowko is definitely the popular guy these days, but I'm not sure the best way to get his attention.

I really like Fenner. He did a playthrough of the campaigns and I think he really enjoyed himself. Anyways, he is streaming overwatch at the moment, but we could spam his chat one day and recommend him playing through Perfect Soldiers, Annihilation or others. I think streamers who play other games other than starcraft will most like what we have to offer here.
@JayborinoPlays: Go I'm not sure Jakatak will invest much more of his time with the SC2 modding community. I'm part of the LotV mod and we gave up updating the mod at some point, team members went their separate ways and that's it. I can link him to this thread anyway so he can speak for himself.
I don't want to sound pessimistic but in my opinion LotV will bring even less people back than HotS did, I may be wrong though. I don't expect it to be as you guys are.
That remains for Nov. 10th to tell. Still, you can't deny the assets, the upgrades to the editor, the intro cutscene, and the short stories/videos that preceded it are that a seducing bait. Needless, to say, I was hooked since 2014.
I agree it may be somewhat lackluster, but there will still be more people drawn in than there are currently so I figure we can try to snatch some of them up. The way I see it is that there are at least some folks out there who would enjoy the custom content scene, but just don't know it exists so this is our chance to reach out to them. I don't see a huge point doing mass advertising to people not already at least slightly predisposed to enjoying this stuff

Day9 is a viable one and husky also cause they will for sure come back to do stuff for lotv, the topic of sc2 hots burned itself after they did alot of vids on them, they couldnt get more viewers in staying on sc2.
@DeltaCadimus: Go @JayborinoPlays: Go Please don't "derail" the thread because of me. Keep up to your plans. At first I thought I'd list my reasons to feel the way I do but we had these discussions a billion times now. I sent a message to Jakatak about this thread.

You forget LoTV is coming out as a standalone whereas HoTS didn't. That's a big plus for new players.
This game is fucking huge. The amount of work put into it (story mode with separate character models and environments, vast array of worlds with their own doodads and tilesets, Rpg elements, gameplay diversity) will be enough for a 3-4 shitty-ass steam games with average budget. I will always appreciate that, even though i play only campaign and never replay any missions (basicaly bought 2 days of gameplay per each expansion). This and the editor, which i use more like a sandbox than a tool to create maps is more than enought for me to buy it.
So how it fits within our topic. The point is this game is more for connoisseurs, and the reason it became so is because in my opinion Blizzard overemphasized the multiplayer aspect of the game. For many potential newcommers starcraft is a competitive, punishing multiplayer expirience. It becomes like stereotype. So as multiplayer scene stagnating i think Blizzard should shift the focus to the singleplayer or some innovative arcade gameplay. Because behind this multiplayer bubble and show they make of it many just doesn't see the beauty and ammount of dedicated work put into story mode.
I may be wrong ofcourse with evaluation of people's perception, but at least this is how it seems to me when i see the lowering popularity of this game. Because there is no objective reason of it. The game gets better with each new expansion. And the new tileset update they showed recently just ugh.. mindblowing :). :(

I totally agree, Jay. We'll probably need to foray onto the b.net forums and drive traffic over here.

Day9 and Huskystarcraft are dead.
Jayborino is our new hero.

Going to need all the marketing you can get considering Void comes out on the same day as Fallout 4.

Oh, yes... I think Blizzard's chewing a bit more than it can swallow with this particular launch date.
should be fine; they are not competitors
