Hey,
I made a new custom-map feature where players can now rate other players based on how well they think they play. It's implemented for Starcraft Debates, but this idea can be implemented by you in your custom map. What do you guyz think?
So far, it's working well. Noobs start with 1 star and a player cannot rate himself. :)
The rating is carried from game to game through banks.
I swear I'd hire Rodrigo for publicity if I was in the position to do so. Lol. Interesting idea I must say. Since rating stuff is pretty commonplace on the internet these days, I'm expecting this to be implemented quite a bit.
I tried really hard to find either a provided Asset, to make it available to rest of the community or a thread to add this post too. I failed. Rodrigo, where the hell did the first Debates Thread go, where this belongs? ~
To avoid hackers, my code is kinda messy. I'm sharing how I print the stars in the dialog based on how many stars each player has (loaded from banks). To save stars, I use banks, and to give a star to a player, I just have to increase the "s" variable. For example, if I want to give 5 stars to player 1, I set s[1] = 5. Then, I save this value in the player's 1 bank and call the dialog trigger again to display the changes in the screen. Here is the code to display the stars in the screen:
Ok. I updated the code. Now the stars can be clicked. So, players can rate other players just by clicking on the stars in the dialog.
The screenshot attached shows the changes I had to made.
It's basically an invisible button behind the image. So, everytime a dialog is clicked, a trigger goes through a loop to see if it was one of the stars. Just by the index of the star variable (matrix of item dialogs) I get the player number and the star number. The rest is easy.
Hmm, It gave me the idea that people will be able rate other players pictures on pictionary map, similarly to your system, but in my case people will be able to do it after each picture and people with under 2 score wont be able to rate. I hope this will reduce a bit all the trolling and manner pictures on my map.

You take this "Learn 2 advertise" pretty serious, don't you? :D
Looks cool, very interesting
If it is not to hard to implement I would like to use this system one time.
Hope there is no abuse in that system.
@Rushhour: Go

Whats the point? I mean other than sowing others your rating. Does having low/high rating affect anything? Either way nice job :D

i wish i had a clue about banks :(
nice work
Care to share, then? ;)
I saw this and thought you were adding a PSR or ELO ranking system to Debates and lost sleep over it.
Looks interesting. But, What's the difference between blue and yellow?
Blue stars is for admins.
Yeah, I lost the first Debates Thread =/
