My guess on this is that this version is exactly the same one as the version copied on retail DVD with a small modification on install timer. The retail DVD will let you install on midnight July 27 while the digital download is 10 hours later.
After installed, the only thing you need to play is login to a bnet account with a starcraft 2 license (your account must be in the same region as the client). So your cd key will work for the digital download one, just that you have to wait 10 hours. The only problem is whether your cd key with the retail box is region-specific or just the client in the box is
I reckon people will see full pirate version around early next week.
I got my sc2 pre-ordered anyway. All I care about is getting thoses models and sounds earlier.

No, they've already stated that the downloader will let you install at midnight, you simply can't buy the game(therefor it is of no use to you) until 10:00 CEST.

Agreed. Guys from departments other than bnet 2.0 are pretty smart btw.
<<reply 11 if you download this it will install the game and if you preordered it and downloaded this when you go get your copy you come home put cd in cd tray and you wont haf to install the game its already installed on it you put the cd code in on your account and then you play its a awsome idea blizzard has so we dont haf to wait 5 hours to let install on july 27 im installing it right now but i also have the beta on my comp so :)
He probably just hacking his way through. Although I doubt he can install it. All the file are encrypted and they should be smart enough to hold their decryption key in the sever until 27th
Someone else has found a way to get around the message and to install, however he notes that he is unable to launch the game and it crashes when he tries to run the launcher.

Are you 100% certain? Because... I dunno. Maybe I should ask on the blizzard forums and hope for a blue response.

I can switch around .xml files too.
Don't believe anybody really got anywhere until you've seen more evidence such as screenshots of the install folder at least, if not screenshots from the client itself.
If you try to install it says " The file "...SC2-WingsOfLiberty-enUS-Installer\Installer UI 2.MPQE" could not be opened, because an error 108 occurred. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (MPQArchive::Open)".
If anybody wants to see it themselves, just open Installer UI 1.MPQ with a regular MPQ editor (I use Ladik's), and replace the text in NotReleased.xml with the text from any other .xml you want to see appear when you click the install button. Such as InstallerPage.xml, which as the name suggests, is the installer page, which Vernam7 used to pretend to have made a crack. I wonder why he won't release it!
I really don't understand why people do stuff like that.
Both Installer UI 2.MPQE and Installer Tome 1.MPQE (which I believe are important files) are encrypted files(from what I read), so unless someone found away to decrypt or to trick Starcraft 2 Installer then there is no hope until after release date.
exactly, it's impossible for them to decrypt those MPQE
according to what I read, the encryption algorithm is called Salsa20. These algorithm requires a 256 bits key which is no where found in the installer, probably it's sent by blizzard servers when you try to install it. The thing is they can't brute force a key because they would need to try 2^256 combinations, which is near impossible to find in a human's live spam, making it even funnier.
wait, I know this is a silly question but, can I download the game and install it (after midnight or w/e) and then when I get my physical copy I can just use the CD key and not waste my time installing it from the DvD itself?
kk good to know :D That will save me some time since I know the worst part about getting a new game and having it in your hands is waiting for it to install. Rofl at this point of the process I just want to stab myself. I am glad I'll be able to skip that part and go directly to the campaign :D
Well, Vernam7's brain seems to be so highly developed that he can run through 115792089237316195423570985008687907853269984665640564039457584007913129639936 possibilities in a matter of hours. Probably even without a pocket calculator.
PS: This number is NOT just random. It is really the result of 2^256. Starcode can be used for a lot of things :D
Well boys the game is out in Asia and... with a packet capture I can see the path used to grab the key :
mediakey/sc2-authenticationcode-frFR.txt
When searching on google found that TW (taiwan) use this key :
U3NFQJV4M6GC7KBN9XQJ3BRDN3PLD9NE
I've setup a webserver serving the file.
Changed my hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts to have eu.battle.net point to the IP address of my webserver.
I can pass the screen saying that I can play on 27th of July but got an error : can't create <EULA> file...
Investigating...
but it seems that

What if i buy an polish box version of a game and dl GB version so i can play in English? The shop agreed that this is possible.

That would be right with the >>>>>>>.
Some of us don't have a working DVD drive D:
I'm very glad they're allowing downloading of the client before release.
@Kanaru Is that Browder in your helmet? Lol!
Also sweet, do want full details when the game is cracked.

Are you sure? How?

Well, thanks man. I hope you're right. But for what it's worth, true or not, the guy has already stolen my peace from me.

Yes. The only thing the CD key is used for is to add the game to your account so you can login. Anybody can install if they have the installer.
