I believe this is the appropriate place for website bugs. Anything related to SC2 goes in the bug section under Development. I have also had this issue for the past week.
I wrote Sixen a PM about the exact same problem, and he confirmed, that General Chat is the place to go for website bugs. He also stated he experienced the same bug with the PMs and will have someone look after it.
Since the question of the topic title is answered, I suggest updating the topic to include the PM problem instead
I've had this bug for 1 day as well, but now its gone :/ I could get rid of the 1 false unread PM by opening the last PM I recieved, it would show up 1-2 hours later again.
Right now, I have 2, sometimes it says 4, sometimes 1, maximum was 5. Opening any of your already read PM seems to remove it temporarily. Also, after some minutes, it vanishes by itself.
Hmmm, I only had 1, and the bug is gone for me now for two days. Maybe its related to recieving PMs? How many PMs from different people have you guys gotten? Ive gotten 1 in the big PM thread about mapcraft, and then another PM from someone else (which is when the bug vanished I think)
well…since noone has bothered to say if they have or not. Has anything removed all their cookies/cleared cache or try a different browser?
well I went ahead and did such. had 3 pms ive had for a bit, went ahead and clicked them to unview them, and had 0pms, (refreshed…ect 0 pms) however 10 mins later I had 3 again. this happens on multiple browsers and regardless of cache/cookies.
However, the second I view any PM at all, all 3 vanish back to 0 for another x time.
MAKE IT STOP!! I'm trying to set up meetings and stuff but I can't with the glitch going on since it always looks like someone is trying to talk to me. starts growling to himself
I just had it happen to me just now, first time. I got this PM 12 hours ago and I viewed it before leaving for work this morning. After work I was browsing the forums and everything was fine. I played some Bastion(Amazing Game BTW!!) and then I turned it off to go eat, but first I check my regular web haunts and I get 1 PM flashing... sure enough its the same PM from this morning. LOL. Same browser, cookies always enabled.
As per amount of PMs... well... damn. DrSuperEvil PMs me the most, but I do get asked alot of questions/for help so... I dunno, right now I have like 3-4 pages of PMs, some of them are quite long threads.
EDIT: It started flashing again after my edit lol.
You guys gave me the virus. I come in here to see what people were talking about and bam I have a PM when the page is loaded. I check to see what it is and it's nothing. Thanks guys...
That's how it worked for me as well (well, I didnt delete any cache or cookies or tried anything to fix it), open latest PM and it vanished for a certain amount of time.
The strangest thing is, I don't get ghost PMs anymore. Everyone else apparently does. What happened that it fixed it for me? It cant be getting a new PM, since others who posted here get way more PMs than me. Can't remember doing anything anyone else doesn't do regularly the day and day after I had ghost PMs, not even editing news posts or threads, or doing anything else only mods can do... I think I edited my project page, but I think that was after the PMs had stopped. Apart from that, just regular forum posting and PM sending.

i have 1 new PM apparently. yet i've already read it and i can't seem to get rid of the glowing, flashing text that just makes me want to click it.

@Kueken531: Go
Same thing goes for me. I was just about to bring this up backstage but I suppose it's already known.
@Kueken531:
cant change title as far as i know. unless a mod can.
Is this different for different parts of the forum? I am 100% sure you can change titles in other parts of the forum.
Edited the topic title for ya.

Max I've ever gotten was 3. It's 1 right now for me.

I get pms on a regular basis, probably 10+ per day, maybe 3 to 4 different threads.
Yesterday had 2 that just would not go away.

Huh, very strange. This has never happened to me, and I send/receive PMs on a regular basis as well. Interesting.
Great to be back and part of the community again!
