do you guys have issues with the UI-editor? it has a useless preview function now which throws alot of errors and ultimately crashs the editor. my editor already crashed several times even though i haven't done anything, just browsing through an empty map. omg it's back the wol-release feeling.
for anyone with slow download, the editor downloads 10 kb/s faster than the launcher does (you need to open a map with all dependencies which are downloaded then). w/e the launcher does additionally i hate it. it's still faster to open a map, test document and then login than running the launcher.
also sc2 crashes for me when closing it now (or it never closes at all).
The UI-Editor was very unstable and unreliable for me, too. Pretty much not possible to work with it right now. Must save as components and work in the raw UI XML. :(
Its not just the fact that it crashes, it also messes up the XML "behind the scenes", so what you enter into the UI-Editor is not neccesarily what the actual game loads later. (Even if the code is correct!) The new UI-Animation system for example doesnt seem to be supported by the UI-Editor at all, and completely trashes the XML. However, when testing raw XML input within the game, it works perfectly.

And guess what? half of them doesn't work and using some of them causing game to crush with a critical error. I spend so much time learning the data editor, i won't kill any more of my time fighting with this bugs.

Please keep it constructive guys. This is a very big engine update and issues are unfortunately to be expected. However, if you really want stuff to get fixed, try to describe your issues as detailed as possible so Blizzard can investigate further.
Also, this thread is primarily meant to be in the format issue -> solution and not for pure bug reports or rants.

Pitfall: Get Player Handle trigger function throws an error for unused slots (e.g. "2", if only player "1" is playing) instead of returning an empty string.
open the Lazer Bots ability from this map i made for sc2mapster hero entry hosted by Aleyviper. Do you rly think those wizards help me to configure that shit? This is just a few abils i made not so long time ago, its not nearly the scale of my main project. This patch fucked up 3 of 4 of my abils even from that single hero map.
1) The global loop animation issue with turret (4th skill)
2) Global Loop animation issue with 1st skill buff visualisation (GLStand doesn't play for DominationImpact.m3 model)
3) Using Laser Bots just kills sc2 completely. (as i observed it appears that the issue is "Transfer" (behavior) flag from the "LaserBotLaunchAttack" effect. If turn this flag off it won't crash, but will loose intended functionality, so not considered as a solution. So basicaly Transfer behavior via Launch Missile effect is broken and need a fix from Blizzard-side)
Also for some unknown reasons they removed Icon texture of that weapon (as i remember i used Ultra Capacitors upgrade from campaign icon)
All that shit happened just for 1 (one) unit. with the latest patch.
edit: Ok the impact model of the Archon skill sketch doesn't display properly too :D
edit 2: Also the Bots wierdly jerking off the position after return which something that didn't happen before.
edit 3: Most surely some bug with movers, occasionaly the Bots return speeds is extremly slow.

You guys are aware this is LotV right? Only without the data mod (is it without the data mod?) but the engine is the same.
It does look like Blizzard finally obliterated their English localization nonsense. Now there is (as there always should have been) only 1 English language to choose from.
I think a lot of people are being too hard on this patch complaining that it broke their stuff. It is possible your stuff was broken to start with just SC2 was some how managing to make it work. I will need to investigate details more closely to find out the truth.

it's true. there are more error msges now and i found a few errors in my script which had no effect pre patch, but the majority of error msges comes from the patch. all of my maps are affected by bugs which i am unable to fix
Having trouble with texturesets here. I duplicated a texture set before and replaced 2 textures to the ones I wanted. I used that texture set and it's all good. Now that I can use multiple texture sets, to make things simple I just replaced the custom texture set with the original one, making sure all the textures would replace the same texture (apart from the 2 I replaced). After doing this, the whole map just went black. As soon as I clicked somewhere, the editor crashed.
Pitfall: Multiple Texture sets don't work correctly.
Solution: Don't use it until it's fixed. Keep your current textureset. If you wish to experiment, please backup your map.
Pitfall: Units can't sell items to buildings/shops.
Solution: Create Fake empty inventory ability and add it to all buildings/shops.
