I was under the impression that curse was searching SC2mapster.com and organizing the maps from here. However, I just played poker defense for the first time, and really enjoyed it. I wanted to leave a comment with some suggestions, and figured I'd best post it on SC2mapster.com. However, poker defense isn't here, from what I can see.
I was hoping for a unified map location, especially until blizzard gets their act together. Should I be using only curse to check out and comment on maps? Or am I mistaken and there's no affiliation aside from advertising for curse here? ... actually, now that I think of it, there's the same login... so whats up with poker defense not being here?
I hear you and would like some clarification on this myself. I got a curse e-mail when I made an account here. Is SC2Mapster an alternatively-named Starcraft 2 community-section of Curse? Are the two affliated? Or am I seeing things?
On World of Warcraft, the setup is the following: Curse.com is the site where users download the addons and Curseforge/Wowace are the places where authors develop the addons. We tried to copy the same setup for Starcraft 2. However since sc2mapster is the place where news and forums are and the "brand" known by people, this is quite akward to promote the curse part.
We are in a state where content is duplicated between curse and sc2mapster. Basically you have the possbility to go over one site or the other to download the maps. Curse.com should be easier to browse maps, even if we are going to improve mapster map listing in the future.
As we don't really know what Blizzard is going to do for map hosting, we are a bit stuck. Does it worth it to involve a lot of time making a download center if Blizzard does it ...
Curse is a fansite network and SC2Mapster is one of the Curse Fansite. Curse is like the father of SC2Mapster. I run this place, but I work for Curse.
Anyway, as of right now, the Curse Maps DB just pulls all the SC2Mapster maps and lays them out in a prettier fashion. It also has a rating system with DL count and stuff. However, we're working on changing this and making the Mapster Map DB a lot prettier and easier to use. Also going to get a rating system in, and we won't direct people over there anymore.
Even with the publishing system, we still encourage people to upload their maps here. The map project pages can be used to leave feedback on maps to the author. In addition, if the publishing system ever goes down, you can still distribute your maps over Mapster. And with the amount of users that visit here, why wouldn't you want to get your map out as much as possible, right? :P. It also allows for people to share single player campaigns and AI maps that don't really belong on Battle.net.

Just confused. Any help is appreciated.
The mapmaker misspelled it "Poker Defence." Hope that helps.
Well yeah this is weird. I have no idea about curse but I like this little map making community here.

Well looks like this is figured out now. I would expect a network like this to have sc2mapster.curse.com - but whatever.
