The 16 limit is a bit of a let down but...thank you Blizzard. It only took five years but we got there at last!
On a side note, I've noticed that the cell borders don't transition smoothly between two texture sets, so you get this flat overlay with the base tile that you used over the two interlocking ones:
Stuff seemed to work fine before I left the house. Came back and suddenly many changes weren't saved any almost all the trigger folders and triggers had no name anymore (blank) and were outdated...
Jesus. My first impression on neo-Arcade is mixed. While open list does look better (from checking it on SEA, where there were only 1-2 games in it), the browse only shows 9 map thumbnails at a time.
Why can't we get a table view option for browsing? I'd be fine with just an excel-type list of map names. All the endless browsing and loading just to see if there is a name that catches my eye is really nothing but a journey full of frustration and annoyance.

Warning: Updating to 3.0 will clean out your StarCraft mods folder of anything that isn't a mod. That is, UI files, map files, anything else you stored here. Even notepad documents. It was all wiped from my drive. I have backups so it didn't set me back, but just be warned.
I tend to save my work on a separate folder, so even if it updates, it's not a total loss.
Still, I liked literally the new features, but I feel the area for designing texture sets could've been 4x4 instead of 8x8. People would want to make tighter areas and not having to do huge rivers, or gorges and stuff to separate it in a coherent way. I also don't get why this option instead of just expanding the tileset texture limit from 8 to 16, unless that'd crash the game because of hard-coding...
BTW, you can now load up the prologue maps and check out the doodads! :D Man, just checking them out made me feel like I'm touching the Sistine Chapel! But... I think they'll want to fix up the name lists, because they're a big mess...

I would rather use the data asset subforum for that, but I dont think anyone really cares about wether its in the one forum or the other. Looking forward to your creations :D
First iteration of wizards is attached. Go nuts :D
This wizard file has 2 wizards in it. One creates units, lets you enter the life, and has a checkbox to include energy, which then lets you enter energy. The other creates multiple levels of a damage effect (just names them Name+LevelNumber).
2) Walk through to auto create data. In mine, I have 2 fields for you to type in the Name and Life of the unit, and then it creates the unit object. THe other asks for how many levels of a damage effect you want, and creates all of them.
I feel with you man. I also lost all of my maps.
It wouldn't be that bad as I only lost my most-recent project (and only the triggers, the mod files were untouched by that update). But that project was to be my entry for Rock the Cabinet 2015. Now I can't make it in time, even if I were to redo all of the triggers.
I could try to redo it all in time, but I have a life too.
Why that folder had to be deleted is beyond me. Starcraft II's campaign maps aren't even stored there, it's pretty much for player-created content only!
If you tested your game you should find a copy in "C:\Users\User\Documents\StarCraft II\EditorBackup" or wherever your directory is, saving grace, a couple of my files were in that folder cause I test frequently
CAN WE ACCESS HEROES OF THE STORM CONTENT

Wow thx for the tips
The editor changes ..... So beautiful
Edit: Where should we share wizards? I plan on making some later, but data development or elsewhere?
Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)
needs a new section similiar to tutorials, everything else would suck

Well, I happen to have had a bit of fun as I wait for maintenance to be finished.

I seemed to have missed something, but what are these wizards capable of doing?
They can serve 2 functions
1) Customize the data editor UI
2) Walk through to auto create data. In mine, I have 2 fields for you to type in the Name and Life of the unit, and then it creates the unit object. THe other asks for how many levels of a damage effect you want, and creates all of them.

Are those doodads somewhere in the editor that I missed?

It increases the speed at which you can cookie cutter things.

Update just deleted all of my maps...
all of the work... literally all of it... years, years of maps.
