Hey folks,

Just wanted to make a quick thread about this. I haven't been around for something like a month, and I just came back to a bunch of posts about it and a payload of PMs. So in order of importance:

1. I'm fine, I'm alright. No hospitalization or anything, don't worry about that!

2. I'd like to apologize for my unannounced absence. Commitments or not, a bunch of you were counting on me for updating the BWTT and the WTE, and I failed to either live up to those expectations or communicate about them without a good reason. My bad entirely.

3. Perhaps the most significant one: the main reason I haven't been around is simply because I've moved onto other pastures. I wish I could say I've been busy (and this is true to some extent), but being real, I have found time to be active on other forums. I haven't done anything with SC2 mapping in a while, and I haven't been very engaged with the community here either: it now feels like whenever I wasn't just throwing away spam threads, all I was doing was sticking/maintaining the WTE posts and the ocassional BWTT. It's nothing personal: I think many of you are great guys in your own right, I just no longer share enough of the same interest to do the weekly updating of stuff, as last month demonstrated.

Knowing the speed at which Curse operates here, I'll likely never lose my mod status, and I'm happy to sticky the ocassional thread I may come across. Just don't expect too much; it's not unlikely I'll go weeks without checking here again. I'm glad to see people are still WTE-ing it up, at least.

Well I hope star craft can attract back some great people to the star craft gener like it was when wings of liberty came out.

Sad day! You and Super Evil are the first people I remember from all those years ago. I'd also like to throw my hat into the ring for mod status if possible, I'm on this site all the time.

Did you move to Unity Mozared? It has rich terraining possibilities!

Hahahaha. Alevice Mod 2016 amirite? Can you ban Zolden, I think his account got hacked, now is a adbot for Unity (JK, love you too Zolden, though vi >>> emacs).

Anyhow, to the topic at hand. That's unfortunate, but such is life. I wish you luck on your future endeavors Mozared.

As sad as it is to see you go, I can't really fault you for it. A lot can change in the six years since SC2 launched, from one's interests to many other parts of their life. I've largely moved on from modding SC2. It remains a soft spot for me, though I can't see myself returning to it with the same passion I had years ago. That aside, I will be eager to see who takes on your mantle on here.

I've destickied the old WTE (#255 or something), at least. I'd happily pass the general thread on and such if someone is willing to copy everything over and maintain a new one. If that person sends me a PM I can send them the raw text in a txt file so the lay-out isn't lost. Other than that, there's not much I can do.

Dungeons & Dragons, mostly. I've taken to DMing, where you can craft the same stories as you could in a game like SC2 but without needing to use stock models or knowing code. It's been a wild ride so far. I still game, but I mostly play Bloodrite (to fill the competitive rush) and Civilization VI (with friends) lately. Aside from that, I've finished my master in Game Studies (how many DnD game masters do you know that can say they are officially a game Master? :D) and am looking at what to do next. Ideally I'll go on towards a PhD in the same realm, but I haven't found an opening yet. I may end up starting something myself, which could end up being anything ranging from Youtube videos on game/story/experience design to an indie dev company.

When it comes to mod status, Curse makes all the decisions. Or well, they would, if they actually made decisions. I'm all for making them some recommendations, but I don't see anybody relevant even bothering to ask about it anytime soon.
