Just want to start by saying this is not a Complaint ;) just an Idea.
I was thinking if it would be Possible ( and if u think it’s a good idea )
Regarding the DATA and TRIGGER part of the forum , when people ask for help and the problem get SOLVED , ive noticed a lot of people changing the title to SOLVED!!
Could we possibly Open a Section (maybe with in the tutorial section ) where we can Move ALL does Post for us to use a reference?? I think this would help all of us a lot cause most of the post are as helpful as a tutorial and we see A LOT of random little Issues popping up on the forum that is not in the Tutorial section.
I find my self going trough PAGES AND PAGES looking for some one with a similar problem , I release the Forums have a SEARCH option , LOL!! but some times the tittles are not Extremely well explained!! Lol making it often difficult to find the correct post , HENCE!!! Causing more useless spamming of the same Problem
Now I know this cause ive done it LOL and I feel bad for sometime asking the same question twice because I couldn’t find the answer before.
It would be nice to have a place or a list of group of people whereas you can ask privately AFTER exhausting all resources - (experimenting, searching) and expect an immediate response if that person is online. Maybe setup a voluntary schedule of members willing to answer basic to advance questions many times. Some kind of tutoring system for the site perhaps =P
So, instead of browsing and researching and trying to find a post similar to your problem, you can simply ask someone privately (if you don't want to open up a new thread).
The IRC is great for instant responses, the web client is able to be used to connect to the sc2mapster channel along with many other methods. There are a lot of lurkers on there that love to help people with their problems.
Moving the threads doesn't change the fact that they are allready there, and the same posts will come up again, unless someone is going to sit there and rewrite all of the threads to understandable topics with the problems and solutions. (Aka. A lot of work).
As for asking if you are not sure, even after you have searched there is nothing wrong with that, this is supposed to be a mapping community, everyones problems are more often unique to their map and specifications, and they need to know how to do it for the ability or trigger, not how someone else did it. If you can't find the solution don't hesitate to ask :)
After reading this, I decided to bookmark all the [Solved] threads and I'll later put them into a thread with better titles, linking to all of them. This should make it easier to find a thread, because the titles will be clear and detailed.
Of course, with 198 threads that have SOLVED in the title, it will take some time. Already have the first 2 pages of search results bookmarked, I'll get the rest over the next week, and then recompile into a single thread the week after.
The only problem would be spreading the word that they need to post their [Solved] threads into yours. Therefore, you'd have to do it yourself. Idk...sounds time consuming. :(
Moving thread will cause broken links everywhere so we tried to avoid that until necessary. I needs to kill more kittens to get curse fix some more stuff though
It would be nice If these topics could be handled like trouble shooting calls where the topic actually has a flag on it with an image or something marking it solved or new and what not.....
Also better search functions.....
if topics had hard coded "solved" flag on them you could chose to search through only the solved topics......
just my two cents

That's a great idea, and great initiative! When you've done the thread just let me, progammer or another mod know and I'll (or whoever you ask) will sticky it.

Excellent idea Vlaeder. I'm sure many people will find that VERY useful.
