1. WoL: Nyon's followers went crazy because of too much Terrazine exposure and were probably inhaling it hence the "Breath of Creation" They were only enemies for the Raiders because they held a grudge against him for stealing the Terrazine on Belshir
2. HotS: Narudek's Tal'Darim were outfitted with those skins to identify his forces. They were just corrupted Khalai controlled through the nerve cords.
3. The real, mainstream Tal'Darim were lead by Mal'lash and later, Alarak. Hence their red and black skins, different technology, and different caste system.
4. The corrupted Protoss on Zhakuldas aren't really Tal'Darim but they do have Dark Protoss skins. I actually used them in WWBitT because they weren't Tal'Darim skins.
You realise that they're just plot holes, right? It's not like blizzard made three or four versions of the tal'darim and then just fused them all together, they just continuously blundered and bumbled all over themselves while writing the script and forgot half of their own campaigns (which is why they retcon everything about terrazine in lotv for example)
lol then that's sad...it's a shame new writers and stuff didn't reference previous games enough. It was genuinely confusing for me when I play the games because I was unsure of if they were all the same faction
No, there is only 1 Tal'Darim, in Alarak quotes there is one that confirm Nyon's Tal'Darim are the same Tal'Darim of LotV, they just didn't have their right model, only this.
I assume they got seperated off and used the normal style protoss tech as it was easier to make/ aquire without the slayn manufacturing. Naruds probably sat around hybrid so much they got corrupted. Or its ceremonial to match the temple.

Wow literally every time I see Pronogo post he's being negative or talking poorly of something or someone. On topic: I think Tal'Darim are like any other nation or large group of people. Say you fight US Marines one week then Army Rangers the next.... they'll have different colors, uniforms, weapons, tactics, everything. But they're all American. Same thing with Protoss, but because the Tal'Darim stretch across the galaxy, not just one landmass or nation, the differences are greater. Makes sense to me.
I don't tolerate shitty storytelling, and I'm certainly not an apologist for poor writing. If that bothers you, don't read my posts.
The protoss are the most interesting race in StarCraft, and they're also the most fucked, mostly because of blizzard glossing over details and leaving people like us to try to 'rationalise' and make excuses for the details simply not being there. That's not an objectively effective way to write a story, and subjectively, the fact that so many people don't seem to mind at all pisses me off.
I could flip your same logic right back at you and say "if the storytelling bothers you, don't play the game."
If you want to discuss the storytelling, cool, but your anger problem isn't changing anyone's mind and just brings unneeded negative energy to this otherwise friendly board.

Except you don't pay to read my comments, whereas I am a consumer who bought a copy of the game. As a consumer who is paying money and funding blizzard, I am entitled to a game that isn't garbage. And when I'm on a site that exists specifically to provide a forum for people who want to write and dissect stories for StarCraft campaigns, voicing grievances about blizzard's own piss-poor job is not out of line, nor should it be perceived as such.
The purpose of this thread, as far as I can infer, was to discuss the handling of the tal'darim faction pre-lotv and how that affected the faction and the protoss race as a whole. My position is that it is a series of plot holes and inconsistencies that is indicative of blizzard simply not planning out their story before producing individual chapters of it. That's the extent of my intended participation in this discussion. Why you've chosen to personally attack me instead of just responding to my points (if you indeed disagreed) is beyond me.
You shouldn't have to infer to be able to determine that all I was saying was my belief that there were at least three different subfactions of the Tal'Darim. I wasn't discussing handling or plot or writing or anything like that. I'm just starting my observation, it's nothing to fume over.

The fact that you have to make excuses and infer/use headcanon is evidence enough that something is fucked with blizzard's methods.

No, Blizzard only decided to make exclusive models AFTER LotV, probably because they never thinked to give to Tal'Darim a great role.

Lol you seem to really hate Blizzard

According to Blizzard they're all one faction, but Nyon's was rogue.
They're not corrupted Khalai. They're Tal'Darim, and Tal'Darim have nerve cords.
