Bruh XD I have no idea either but I think the Nerazim have mouths.
The Zer'atai DTs with the warp scythe in-game have mouths on their portraits although I doubt those mandibles could really suck anything. Don't know about the Lenassa tribe, but I think they have mouths too.
Aside from the lack of nerve cords (which are severed after a protoss makes the decision to become Nerazim), there is literally no physical difference between the Nerazim protoss and any other protoss. They are the same race, not a different species, so why the hell (and how the hell) would they have evolved an entire new biological structure (mouths) in the time span of 4 years since BW (where they were confirmed not to have mouths in cinematics, at least in Zeratul's case) while their Khalai brethren don't? That literally doesn't make any sense.
They don't have mouths and hopefully never will. But SC1 isn't even canon anymore. So I'd wager in SC3 they not only will have mouths but there will be mass effect style "romantic" scenes. Since alien sex is all the rage these days.

They're wearing hydra/zergling skulls as trophies.
Protosses are fictional creatures, they only exist in imagination. So, it's up to us to decide if they have children. If any of us has modelling skills, they could create a protoss kid model. If someone is even more experienced with modelling and is able to animate models, he could create a sex scene between two protosses of different gender. Maybe in different position. Then pregnancy with bigger stomach. And then birth giving with some psi-glowing visual effects.
As described by one of the people who posted on this thread, There was concept art of Protoss tending eggs in a pool of water in Starcraft: Ghost... Wouldn't this be evidence of the developers thinking, or even showing us how Protoss are born. Perhaps when a "Male" Protoss gets on with a "Female" Protoss he releases a part of his spirit and the female does as well... The two spirits merge and materialize into an egg....
Well, that's true, to an extent. But if we're telling stories in this world, it's not like this is completely irrelevant. Anything we set down runs the risk of being contradicted by canon (let's just skip the general bitching about how much Blizz does that anyway, please). If we want to write about Protoss parents, it would be nice to know how it worked.

I don't see what you mean about SC1 not being canon anymore 0o. As for mouths, funnily enough if there was ever a time I thought Protoss had mouths it was SC1. xD The spot Aldaris had where his 'mouth' would be always confused me >.<
I had been refraining from sharing this silly idea but heck why not. My semi-serious explanation for Protoss breasts (other than my previously stated comments on visual cues for the audience) is they are solar batteries right? Protoss get sustenance from sun and star light. Female Protoss are able to store up some excess energy which they can then expel to feed an infant Protoss.
Or use as a reading light as a friend of mine once suggested x)
Of course none of that explains MALE Protoss having them. Then again it could just be like male humans having nipples - female is the base form when developing in the womb.
P.S. Grats on getting to meet Metzen! Maybe someday I will do... someday...
In my opinion story wise they changed a lot from BW. Locations, characters, motivations and even events changed from the original game. The general art design is radically different as well. Not to mention a lot of important stuff was retconned. As someone who reads the original manual like a bible it makes me sad.
That being said I don't hate the game. I just think the story belongs in a Warcraft game. More good came out of it than bad at the end of the day.
Back on topic your theory sounds like it could make sense. In the end I'm pretty sure there are little Protoss running around somewhere. Though for now I'm glad they have shied away from showing them.

Fair enough, and thanks for elaborating :) I'm don't completely agree, but I respect your opinion and have no desire to make an issue out of it ^_^
And heh, I remember reading that manual cover to cover many times back when I played SC1 :D great little book. You just don't get game manuals like that anymore...
"Back on topic your theory sounds like it could make sense. In the end I'm pretty sure there are little Protoss running around somewhere. Though for now I'm glad they have shied away from showing them."
Thanks! As I say while it sounds a bit silly I'm not sure it's so crazy! 8D
And yeah there's not really been any reason to show kids in the games (though, it does conjure a fun mental image of the Spear of Adun Creche where they put all the Protoss kids from Shakuras and such :D)
I wouldn't be surprised if we see Protoss kids in other material at some point though, like a comic or such. Particularly if they did a comic or something set after the end of LotV involving reunifying the Protoss on Aiur.
Yeah don't worry I can see why people like the story and all that. It's just not quite my cup of tea. Besides that I wouldn't really be any good at arguing anyways so to each their own. :D
As far as the kids go, I have no evidence but I could see them being very spartan like. Their young would likely train early and be very serious. Although a Carbots silly kid Protoss would be really cool to see at some point.
Since you bring up comics it would be really awesome to see some kind of young Protoss comic that's like the start of 300 where the kid fights to survive.
Protoss kids probably exist, but if you consider the fact that it might take 20 years tops for them to reach adult size, it makes sense we'd see less of them considering protoss live to be 1000 and considering the setting (warzones and battlefields).
I do! It's pretty sad that map-makers here crafted better stories than professional writers for a product that we payed for, especially when you consider the amount of work and talent that went into the art, cinematics, level design, and voice acting. The story section is simply too weak comparitively to the rest of the game.
Heh I could definitely see Spartan upbringing for Templar Caste yes :D though perhaps with shades of monastic upbringing too as Templar have a certain mystical side to them too. (Which is part of the reason I actually feel 40k Space Marines or specifically Grey Knights are a far better comparison to Protoss than Eldar but that's another topic entirely)
Judicator Caste I could see having been very much being like monastic upbringing, lots of contemplation and learning the rule, traditions pseudo religious overtones (Protoss religion is confusing btw. Even back in SC1 Aldaris referred to the Nerazim as Heretics. Then again Khas seems to be a somewhat messianic figure to Khalai Protoss)
Preservers is probably highly specialized given Preservers seemingly had a genetic predisposition to Khala sensitivity so probably need training not to be overwhelmed by it.
Khalai Worker Caste... no idea hah. Possibly actually the closest to average human upbringing but with training in practical skills like building, warp smithing etc.
Any number of people here could have told them this story was a disaster. It doesn't even make sense structurally—there's no real act structure, just a series of "go here, do this" adventures, with random stuff thrown in. Hell, even the opening was unearned—the big twist with Amon taking the Protoss over has no setup, and killing Zeratul is crazy cliche. And don't even get me started on the Kerrigan-as-chosen-one shit—there's 0 character arc in her redemption, and it drives me nuts.
TLDR: I hated the story, too. Hopefully you all like Thoughts in Chaos better. ❤️
Yeah I think I started off with prequel syndrome which slowly faded over time. But like I said even with the story being what it is the game itself and tools are great. Also I really enjoyed the ride as far as WoL pre release. The concept art, alpha units, stories that never made it and interviews is a goldmine for cool stuff. Just like the prequels I'm utterly disappointed but I'm glad it exists kind of.
That's actually really cool. I never gave to much thought into the Protoss sub factions before but looking at it from that perspective makes a lot of sense.

Eh, for me personally Chris Metzen is to StarCraft as George Lucas is to Star Wars.
