Michael Bay? Not sure I agree with that. Bay's editing is typically very fast, with the action often hard to penetrate, particularly in Transformers. The shots in the cinematic are very long and wide, making it easy to see what's going on.
dunno what flashpoint is, but if its any spoilers I dont want to....
I just think that there will be some flashback missions, It would make sense, and could answer a few questions. Hopefully we will be able to play the mission where Fenix Dies and then have a small Cinematic or Cutscene about it. if this game is about her guilt, then we SHOULD play atleast 1 flashback.
As Bogdan said, it's a book detailing the events between WOL and HOTS. If you like lore, I'd read it.

You doubt so? Vikings moving while transforming, explosions everywhere, a dumbass marine just standing waiting to be stomped, an invasion which seems hopeless, particularly with Mengsk's statue falling and the Battlecruiser crashing in the background... You sure it's not Michael Bay style, even with all evidence suggesting so (Without the shaking camera idiocy)?
Truth is, Blizzard is more interested in making more and more explosions for the cutscenes and multiplayer than the characters and history itself altogether. Otherwise, the Prophecy bull in Wings of Liberty would be pulled off the right way, not the "Kerrigan must live for the sake of the franchise" style.

Well, I was talking more about the style than the content, but I still disagree. Not that I am much of a Bay expert (I am no more a fan than you), but from what I remember, his action scenes are a bit more lively, and somewhat less heavy, thematically speaking (there is often an undercurrent of humor or lightheartedness). The HOTS cinematic is, as you say, "hopeless", but I don't find that to be a fitting characteristic of Bay's scenes. I don't really see the problem. It's Zerg invading Korhal, and I think Blizzard does that idea justice. How else should that have been conveyed?
For instance, the Leviathan suddenly glimpsed through the cockpit window, is a truly terrifying image. As is the fact that it is so large that we can only catch glimpses of it. The entire scene has an extremely dark tone, one that reeks of... futility. I don't think I've seen such a dark scene in a Michael Bay film.
I'm not sure Michael Bay has monopoly on fantastic action scenes, but I guess that's all in the eye of the beholder. I also wonder how "Mengsk's statue falling" is Bay-esque, or why the Viking should stop moving while transforming. I don't think I've seen a falling Battlecruiser in a Bay film.
"Truth is, Blizzard is more interested in making more and more explosions for the cutscenes and multiplayer "
Sorry kid but what do you espect form siege tanks????That they shoots farts????Please don't try to find arguments to blame this cutscene,it is awesome, the explosions must alwais be placed on big battles, michael bay transformers films are really good, but ok often there is more explosions than combacts, but this not happenede on this intro,it is so powerful that will break your little y
Vikings transforming while still moving is just a consequence of a Transformers "inspired" unit which, in my opinion, doesn't belong to that trailer or the SC universe. The sight of a transforming Hellion in that cinematic would have been even worse, I'm glad they didn't even include the them.
Now that I think of it great decision to leave new units out, and even some from WoL. Thors would look out of place as well, and Brood Lords would give the cinematic a "attack of the flying piranhas" feel.

Really? Haven't you seen 'Dark Side of the Moon' (HAD to watch it, thanks to my parents... ¬¬)? The invasion of Chicago? Buildings falling, giant monsters like a huge squid thing and armies falling as their efforts are useless against the Zerg/Decepticon army? Except, of course there is no humor, but the action in itself, the screenplaying, coupled with the one-liners, is what it gets so close to it. I mean, "Vengeance will be mine."? That's just the beginning of it, I tell you.
Yes, there is no humor because Blizzard is doing a feeble attempt at making things the most serious as possible. But in the end, in how badly executed the scenes are executed is what it makes pathetic, laughable, hilarious and not so serious. Was that way with Diablo III, it will be with HotS and LotV.
Then, the idea of invading Korhal is somewhat about the same as in the movie, just modified so people can't scream MICHAEL BAY in it. Look behind the plasticity of the graphics and action, and all you'll find is simple, plain, uninteresting plot so far. Same thing for the campaign.
/edit By the way, the only humor scene was the Wilhelm scream. Which practically done it for the video. Just noting.
Obviously. If there is one thing Blizzard hasn't been doing (Yet) is making their cutscenes look ridiculous in a Japanese way. They're too concerned with realism that they ultimately fail at it.
No, I did not see Dark Side of the Moon, although I loved listening to it. Sorry. :p I did not see the movie as well (I saw Revenge of the Fallen).
Those things you describe are so general, I just don't see how a director, certainly not one as contemporary as Bay, can really claim to "own the style". It's one thing to see De Niro when characters mumble in a movie, but this? Nope, don't agree.
If it's modified so people can't scream "Bay" at it, how can you do it?
As for the plot: I won't comment on it before I've played the game.
By the way, I watched it again and realized the reason the marine is trampled is because he looks up at the nydus worm and turns his back on the approaching ultralisk. Oh, priorities.
Avengers not only did the whole sky and city invasion thing but they step for step had Cpt America do Shia Leboufs running through the street jumping on cars scene sooooo. Honestly this does exactly what it was meant to do I'm sorry they didn't release the ending cinematic for ya but I guess you'll just have to play the game. Damn who woulda thought?
It just drives me nuts how many people are just negative at everything. Were there this many complaints about "Hell it's about time" cinematic?
Holy Shit. Straight out of a Michael Bay movie. One of the best Blizzard cinematics yet.
Also, its obvious that Blizzard is inspired by Michael Bay´s Transformers movies. They dont even make a secret of it. The score of Starcraft 2 almost sounds identical to the Transformers music (literally, some bits sound EXACTLY the same). At first I was thinking that maybe it was just coincidence... until I watched the Blizzcon, where Blizzard was showing a beta version of one of their cinematics... which used Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen music as a placeholder. The same goes for the leaked HOTS ending video - it also uses Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen music.
Also, theres the thing that the Viking in this video Transformers nearly 100% the same way that Starscream did in the first Transformers movie and that the overall movement of the characters and the cinematography is very much in Michael Bays style.
Not saying this is a bad thing. Michael Bay is the best action director out there and I think its great that Blizzard is taking inspiration from him when it comes to their visual and audio style.
Yeah I guess you're right mostly positive but it seems like a lot of hater comments on YouTube and I just don't see how someone can watch this and instantly decide its horrible. It happens with every single thing these days. Guess people are entitled to their opinion though.
I gotta be honest. I didn't like this teaser. Not one bit.
- The one-liners are typical of comic book villains and Joel Schumacher movies (Batman and Robin, remember?).
- The Wilhelm Scream ruined the scene.
- The action and battles sound much more like Michael Bay movies these days.
- It practically says the game's story will be just this: Kerrigan invades Korhal, kills Mengsk then leaves with her spiky fluffy ponies. The End.
Serious, I think this is the WORST cinematic I've seen out of Blizzard so far... Other than Diablo's battle with the Archangel in Diablo III.

Newsed for the sake of all things glorious. ^.^
This was probably the best cinematic yet. The D3 cinematics were fantastic and this just keeps the great quality coming :D
Was that sarcasm? I don't have my sarcasm detector with me.

Jeez, some of these complaints... so superficial....
What next?
"Battlecruiser was too big, Blizzard got game scale all wrong. All they care is about realism > gameplay" :S

I don't think there were, except when it came to washing pants. It seems the reception to this one is universially positive.

Sorry for you if you haven't seen better.. Bay's movies suck.
Trailer isn't bad, not good either. The story sucks so what'cha you gonna do.
