Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
I think the fact that they are working on support for something that no one has ever asked for, and then proceeded to not use, kinda puts into perspective their priorities.
Nothing any of you suggest will matter, if it did, they would have simply put the effort into looking at the literally thousands of suggestions made.

Chase that carrot though, its getting closer.
I would imagine their priorities are exactly what they should be, which is whatever their dev / DLC team might want. I'm sure they're looking at thousands of suggestions but mostly just for ideas instead of trying to do exactly what we want.
That doesn't mean people shouldn't go and voice their opinion even if it's just yelling at Blizzard for the hell of it. They're inviting you to do it!

Ermm.... I'm sure you are aware that 1) There first priority will always be to their inhouse teams and 2) This is actually rather useful, my terrain guy loves it, makes whipping up more complex doodad arrangements much easier.
Also, they are adding data entries for data wizards... which can only be to help modders (I guess it could be used in house... maybe).
Since Lotv they have responded to a few bug reports and other issues in the editor forums on bnet in a very quick manner...maybe they got some new blood who aren't jaded or hating on sc2. I was particular impressed when a blue stickied deltronlives' beginner tutorials in the editor forum.
Was going to ask if they can make a feature to link multiple maps together for example StarCraft Universe would benefit greatly from this. Many campaigns especially have to be separate maps which I think makes it harder for people to get into and want to keep playing your stuff. The problem is when I log into the forums it says an error has occurred in the top right and I can't comment on any pages on the arcade, any of the other sites work. This happened like a year ago too, but it never really got fixed even after submitting a ticket.

This was the point of my post. We can make whatever requests we want, but at the end of the day, they are going to work on the things that support their needs. If you happen to make a suggestion that is easy to do, and they may gain from; props, they may actually put it somewhere on a list.
Im not against this, it is business. It isn't the first, second, or third time this same thing has happened. Suggestions like tooltips (tens of thousands of lines, that blizzard does not need) may go onto the interns pile, if we are lucky. Then we will get another 5000 tooltips that say "The field goes here" or something meaningless, because an intern wrote them.
I would really like to see professionally made data wizards, with easy to read instructions. Allowing new mappers to jump into creating something would bring new life to the mapping community. As it is, the sc2 editor is as difficult to jump into as any other platform, with all of the let-downs that come with using the SC2 editor. I believe that blizzard had put their eggs in the basket of "Mapmakers will create and share wizards" which never happened.
this is more oriented on melee map makers from teamliquid and other people which editing mostly terrain in their maps (campaign makers, etc.). Certainly great addition.
I'm more happy with new models from alarak coop commander. There are more of new ones than in latest nova pack. pretty gud
i m sorry.. i mean it is a good idea to be positive and all that ..
but if they wanted input, they would make mapmakers meet "them" (representative(s) and online obviously),
they would make a hosted youtube 24/7 arcade channel, a second one with 24/7 arcade map videos (ads yes, but also tutorials, playthroughs/speedruns/epic replays/etc) ..
All of this is do-able within a fortnight.. coupled with an army of "free helpers" and sponsors
.. so asking for stuff sounds like .. i .. mmm ... i'll shut up
hire me blizz, i'm cheap, you know where to find me.
They are asking for input online. That's better than nothing.
So you want them to host a 24/7 arcade youtube channel. No, you are asking for two 24/7 youtube channels from Blizzard. No wait, you also expect them to meet with mapmakers. This is not a good measure to test Blizzard's interest. This is a pipedream. Your post may be entirely a joke though. It's hard to tell.
Blizzard is a business and like all successful businesses, they are going to focus most of their time and effort into tasks that make them money.

Well, they are obviously working on improvements, and asking what people are looking to use.

Hey folks,
Make sure to get your last thoughts in on the Blizz Website on editor improvements...before it gets buried!!

In the end...I must give up on it all.
It's too much!! I can't do it any longer...I must give in to the evil empire and become one with the marginalized masses of intrigue.
I have composed a short poem by Hockleberry[not me currently]...entitled "Doom Boom"
I doom to the boom of boom boom boom.
Thank you good night.
I have Sc2 on my PC. ITs fun, but NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO its not fun!!!! make it all stop!!! I need another poem.
This one written by Hockleberry entitled. Ugh!
I ugh to the pug dug dug dug ugh
Thank you. Good day.
though i never did a poem in english i'll try myself too:
Blizzard get update for tools,
But the stuff just got ignored
Does community are fools?
Maybe not but rather bored.
You can now rotate a bit
and scale objects uniform
"noone gives a slightest shit!", -
moder says and takes popcorn
On the topic: i posted my suggestion in that comment section but it's too specific thus may not be concidered.
