Perhaps this is a bit of a long shot, but as a Master student in Game Studies I am writing my master thesis on MOBA mechanics. As such, I am looking for players of League of Legends, Defense of the Ancients 2, Heroes of the Storm, or Smite, to help me out by filling in my survey:
I play DotA 2 and Heroes so sure, I'll take the survey!
Edit: I hardly play them anymore and I only played Heroes of the Storm when I was beta-testing the game. Should I submit two responses or I'm limited to one?
I used to play Dota (wc3), LoL and Heroes of Newerth when the latter two were new, is this of any interest to you?
edit: If I answer, should I answer from the perspective of when I played these games?
edit2: looked through the surveys, is it intentional, that for some games you only ask about skins and for others you ask about bought heroes and hero usage?
To answer your questions: I'm really only looking for people who would call themselves active players of a MOBA at this particular moment in time. It doesn't matter if you only play the game 2-3 hours every other week, as long as you would still call yourself 'a player'. "I haven't played it in months but I used to" isn't of much use for my purposes. Thanks either way, though!

Yes. I ask about certain mechanics within each game. Since the games aren't identical, the mechanics present aren't either. It's pretty much just regular hero/champion/god skins that are present in all four games.
I was diamond level in both heroes and league (haven't played league in a long time though) so I'll run through this for ya.
For the record, skins aren't related to mechanics. My responses may also be a bit biased since I feel there has only been 1-2 decent skins released for the game.
I'm still playing lol but usually due to playing with friends, also if this intrests u i'm a mapmaker of a moba game with a good player base in sc2 with very different mechanics and ik alot of the design invloved in mobas.
I've played my fair share of League, still play a few games a week. I didn't think much of the skins as I haven't spent a dime on league and I don't plan to. I can get all the impactful stuff like runes and champions with in game currency I'm gonna do it that way.

I'll fill it out. Diamond 3 in league, probably have more to say about competition/high level play than I do about skins and currency and the like.
