I can't double check anymore since the threads are gone, but I think this is not entirely true - some spammers have been able to make threads since the new measures, as demonstrated by the screencap from my previous post here.
It is entirely true. They (i.e. the spammers) have been able to make threads because it is their FIRST post.
Can anyone who was having posting issues give it a shot again today and let us know if it's fixed?
Still not fixed. Every single person that is not an author, mod, or is making their first post cannot post. Thank you for at least trying to see if this is fixed.
How is this a solution? Let's put a notice on the front page telling everyone that registers to upload a blank map. That way the Maps section can be full of spam too. It's kind of ironic actually that we are actually creating more spam by implementing this Anti-Spam measure. What a wonderful welcoming sight for visitors to our Map page.
I'm sorry for all the bold font, but I would at least like to know that someone is at least trying to fix this.
Again sorry about this... This was a apparently 8 year old bug that was either being swallowed before or somehow just now surfaced. I have fixed it and the fix is live now. (This is also a test post to double check its working.)
Thank you so so much! Hopefully the bug is now fixed and won't resurface again in the future.

I'm sorry Domper, my post was a little too negative towards you. I was just frustrated at that time, and I really only meant that it was a temporary solution, not a permanent solution. At that time, it just seemed like no one was really acknowledging what was wrong and that it needed to be fixed.
BTW, I'm planning on trying out your map for the BWTT and recording it as well if it all goes to plan.

No problem, we were all frustrated. I did the map posting solution just to finally be able to post. Happily its fixed now. Also thank you for the testing and recording plan :)
'Some of us' couldn't even post/edit/PM because it may have recognized as a bot if you logged from more than 1 place, giving 'internal server error' after hanging on a post/reply request. Thankfully they fixed it.
Well this thread is not spawn at all ps I have have ran through every map file that has ever been posted on mapster just about I have checked all the maps section I'm almost done with checking every author profile that exists and see what hidden secrets they have and I have many secrets from sc2 mapster that have been forgotton MUEHAHAGAHAGAHAGAHAG
you do know it is a job for some people to spam advertisement.. ?
what do you think they look for?
they look for a mailbox that does not say "no ads in this mail box" and that keeps getting emptied.. so they can get rid of their ads as quickly as possible (or reach their customer's quota)
funny how everyone posting "this is unacceptable" folded their tents and left, ..not!
This is more of an etiquette question than anything else.
I've been in the Developer Forums since joining, asking questions and trying to learn as best I can. Now it's become second nature to do a quick search of the forums and browsing the first few posts that pop up before starting a new one.
But because I have SO MANY questions about different things that don't pop up when I do a search, I feel like if I started a topic asking every question I have, I would come off as a troll. But I feel that if I have stumbled across something that doesn't register in the searches, I should start a topic and get it resolved and tagged as solved so that future users can find the problem and solution doing a said search.
If I am asking legitimate questions in multiple new topics, is it considered spam? Should I ask questions about separate things in a single topic to keep new topics down? I'm definitely new here and the things that trip me up in the Editor might be old hat to everyone else, but I feel that if my post can help a future user, I should make that topic name and information as closely related to the issue as possible, that way the solutions to problems 2-5 are not lost in a topic titled after and about problem 1.

it was a solution until they didn't fix it. Then they can remove them (as they did already).

I don't think I've come across a website with more spam than this one.
Lol...yeah no idea why anti-measures fail here.
no idea?

Still a problem just found 12 spam bots block advertising. Strange how only the general and off topic forums are affected.

Most spam bots are programmed to litter the most popular threads.
what happened to you guys at curse??
Maybe they're operating at a loss
Well I am sweeping the forums twice a day. The afternoon lot are up for under an hour.
