Sadly I can't see myself playing another just like all the other DotAs DotA-clone, let alone making something for a genre I find so mind-numbingly uninspired (Hah, and I actually liked AOS iterations of BW where heroes were secondary and most of the game was you trying to not get surrounded/killed by huge waves of both weak and OP units, with random events now and there to push player over the edge).
On the other hand if it was some sort of PvE hero defense/assault/something interesting I could maybe even contribute a thing. And I bet finding players/testers/audience would be easier too. Granted, last time I promised to help someone with something (was a simple playtest of a map) I quit mapmaking for half a year never communicating back even a single word (I'm yet to fulfill my obligations D:).
Yeah, but when making heroes the design is an important consideration. If I were to make hero for a moba genre I'd assume what I needed were mostly damage spells, an utility spell that maybe buffs/debuffs and maybe some sort of relocation spell.
But if I'm not restricted by PvP balance concerns I could make something crazy like hero with channeled attack (like sentry beam) that slows/stops target, with massive CC arsenal (think forcefields, hostile teleports, push and pulls). All sorts of imbalanced things that can be balanced with proper enemy design/map layout.
Eh, thinking about this stuff makes me dislike single hero vs single hero games even more. I should sthap already, I feel like a mean person :|

first u make map that peoplz want and they want zombies and survival. Then the profit kicks in. Nothing u really need to worry about, just make damn map of survival and zombies!! and u will be fine.. if not.. U CANT GO WRONG!!
well here is a map with my attempt at a tassadar hero
some of his abilities are based on ones already in the editor- I hope that's ok

Pve is definitely possible, I haven't set anything in stone. The only thing really needed for either though the is heroes.

Personally I would round out the shields, but that depends on the style of the game. Same goes with the zealots in terms of their model.
