I found this site off of starcraft.org, and seeing as how i'm planning on doing quite a bit of modding with the Galaxy editor, I figured i'd get involved in the community and learn all that there is to know. I do have a question. Will I need to know alot of XML to get the most out of my map ideas?
Currently we (a few members from the Mapster community) are developing our own Editor, called MilkyWayEdit. It requires no XML editing knowledge and can be used to create maps, :).

Just wondering, why are you guys doing this? Isn't the only reason to make another version of an editor is because that editor has serious flaws. The galaxy editor isn't released yet and from what I've been hearing, you can pretty much do anything without much trouble.

There's a few reasons we're doing this... First off, because we can! GalaxyEdit has still yet to be released, so it holds us off until GE is released. Secondly, we'll be focusing on things GE can't do, like UI Customization, and precompiling code from other languages that Galaxy cannot utilize by default. The goal of MWE isn't to compete with GE, it's to assist and work alongside.

With Galaxy Editor: No
Without Galaxy Editor: Yes

Oh, I see. Good look on the MWE.
I always wondered what was going to happen to MilkyWayedit after Galaxy came out...
It seems like MWE can do things better than GalaxyEdit right now... MWE has auto-complete with Galaxy API, GE does not, :).
@Sixen: Go
Yeah little features like that are ALWAYS nice. Autocomplete + other IDE features will be amazing for the C style coding.
