It does not mater where, as long as the website is trawled by search engines for results. The advertisement target is the search results rather than specifically targeting people here. Search for certain key words and all that search engines will return are advertisements. That is why the grammar in such adverts is strange as they try to pack as many "key words" as possible to expose it to as many search queries as possible.

The sudden rise would be some exploit found with the Curse account creation system as a rough guess.

Add moderator preview to the first post of new accounts. Problem solved.

The mods here are the real MVPs. Why is there even so much spam here!

Do you want to do it? Be my guest, you can mindlessly spend a portion of every fucking day repeating the same 5 clicks over and over. I'd gladly give the position up to you. We're not sleeping, we're all getting tired of fighting a pointless war. I check the site multiple times a day, and every single time I come over here there's at least 5 different accounts spamming over multiple boards. I just can't be fucking arsed spending time every single day.

I think deleting the site is a pretty bad idea lol.

Firstly, yes, I agree better measures need to be put into place

Secondly, CAPTCHAs are ineffective, known to do little, but better then nothing.

Thirdly, deleting the site will solve nothing.

Fourthly, if we are to burn that bridge, then please do have a transition plan in place first, of hosting, infrastructure and migration of all data.

Finally, if at possible, maybe the addition of more moderators? I do not know if that is possible, but many hands make for little work.
