I just started my launcher to check if they've change the login message and what happend?
the launcher updated itself again and is now downloading an new patch 0.19.0.15976 without any patchnotes at all
I guess the beta is coming back very soon.
edit: omg it removed all the old versions and the editor needs to find an active sc2 account to be used and can#t find it due to the fact the beta is down...
I recommend not to patch until the beta is back online
GRRR why did i update? I was all excited that it might be coming online soon and wanted to polish up some maps for publishing and now im locked out. what a cock tease this update was
I know! This sucks so much. Someone somewhere should post instructions for reverting back to pre patch status. I'd like to keep map making please and thank you. I see no constructive purpose in not allowing map editors to continue to tweak their creations during the down time.
Not sure if this has been posted before or not, but bear with me.
After authenticating my Map editor, I waited an hour and disconnected my laptop from the internet, and then tried to use the editor and it worked fine.
So I'm confirming that the editor DOES work offline once you authenticate it.

Keep a backup copy of your old SC2 install (the folder + the one in documents + registry keys).
Unless the editor is a revolution, it's not worth being locked out of until release.
I hope this does not mean I need internet to actually use the Galaxy Editor. >_<;
You will only have to authenticate once, then you will be able to use it offline all you want.
Oh good. :)
Are you sure?
Did you test it?...
F YES ITEM EVENTS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
It's what Blizz told us, so I assume he's correct.
By authentication you mean as a beta tester?
No, but Blizzard told us this would be implemented in the future. And it makes sense it's there now since it's almost release.
This is also how single player is supposed to be if you use it offline. Except you won't be getting achievements and other similar things.
That's right. And when the game is released, as someone with a game license.
@Kanaru: Go
I'm sure this will be how it would be since they obviously dont want people to play their game for free, provided GE can easily launch maps
