This problem I present to you is technically a UI issue because it interferes with my custom UI, as well as my third person controls. Every time I save and then load a third person map, the cursor starts showing; and the controls go all buggy. There has to be a setting within the Galaxy Editor's UI editor. There is one, right? Is there any way to fix this? No one in the Battle.Net forums know anything.
I don't know if everyone is avoiding the question, because I refuse to believe that there is no way of finding a solution to this problem. I have two forum threads for this: one in this site and the other in Battle.Net forums. Please, anyone?
This is pretty much a fitting description for my third-person engine. It's someone else's map but with similar TPS mechanics. Very similar to mine. I tried this map, and it has the same problem that mine is having.
Save/load is disabled when playing multiplayer anyway so is hardly a usability concern.
The problem is likely because not all the UI state is saved and loaded. The solution is to rebuild the UI state on load (make the cursor invisible again etc). This can be done with the "Load Game Finished" event.
Unless you explain how the controls bug on loading I cannot offer you a solution for them. Chances are something similar would be possible.
Dude. What I'm making is single player, not multiplayer. And yes, I did the "Load Game Finished" event. After loading the game once, the cursor is not shown; but load it twice, that's when the problem occurs.
Okay. Is there a way to make contact with a Blizzard Supporter or perhaps a supporter for the Galaxy Editor? Perhaps they would know something? Any hints?
Any actors used have to be set to be saved. Most actors are not saved to conserve file space (no one cares if your grenade explosions do not load). This is a flag in the data editor actor catalog for each entry.

You need to explain more clearly what "the problem" is. You just mentioned "buggy controls" but that could be anything from controls not working at all to them being inverted or even them working most of the time except under certain conditions.
Have you tried re-enabling the cursor after load and then restoring the FPS mechanics a second later? It could be that the game does not like certain UI modifications performed immediately after a load (like how some graphics are not really supported on map initialization).

Look, I'm just telling you what I did, and controls have really nothing to do with it. There is an Event in the trigger editor that says "Load Game Finished", like you mentioned before. After the event are the triggers where I hide the cursor and re-enable the TPS controls. This happens after I load a saved game, as it should work. However, if I were to load the saved game a second or even third time, the trigger will no longer work and will no longer hide the cursor. I can't go into more detail than that, unless you want me to give you a sample map to prove my point.
Although I am kind of sure the trigger should still work no mater how many times you load, if it really does not then it must be a Blizzard bug which you should report on their forums.
First person or Third person is all kind of the same. It is only different for Top Down, Side Scroll or Real Time Strategy.
A Blizzard bug, eh? Okay, I won't make criticisms or judgments, but I will be honest when I say that you've been helpful. Don't say that you didn't do much. If it is a bug, then tell me one thing. How and where do I report this "bug"?
Oh, their forums. Right. Sorry. Didn't see that part.
Well, what do you know? I already have a thread there, and no one is willing to help. I am not getting any word from Blizzard Supporters, just a bunch of other users who know nothing.

Okay. Why do I get the feeling that everyone had already tried this but failed?

i cannot help because i nver tried anything like this but why don't you take a working third person map from sc2maspter and compare it to your system

Well, I just tried that. It only made the situation worse. Now the cursor won't hide at all. And it's not FPS; it's TPS.
