I understand the basics of using variables in triggers, but I'm struggling to find how some projects like Empire Builder, Galactic Empires and etc... use a unit property like Energy and turn it into income. Because for the game I am doing, I want to make it instead of a unit providing a set amount of income, I'd much rather have it that a population determines it so I can make upgrades for it, and it'd be more realistic.
Even when I try to reverse engineer old projects, I'm finding myself lost in seeing how they work. If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it!
You can use "Unit Property" to get the energy a unit has. You can use "Modify Player Property" to adjust a players money. Change it from "set to" to "add". You can use "arithmetic" in the value area to do whatever math you want to.

Wow I've got to be an idiot, thanks! After configuring it a bit I got it to work!
