Noticed the same problem in my project since a while.
I'm not sure if its some sort of new bug introduced in a recent patch or if they changed something about the configuration of text tags.
i have problems displaying number "1". it always shows as "...". the current build is complete garbage comparing to previous, cutscene editor doesnt load animation for models (like for primal zergs or colonists), broken textures/shaders on some doodads and effect models and also this... Obviously Blizzard using some internal build for the actual work but public always get it with a huge delay.
I played around with the settings a little bit (Max background size, Text alignment etc.) but wasnt able to resolve the issue.
Seems like we just have to wait until Blizzard fixes this, not exactly sure what the problem is, it appears that the internal text tag label size is not calculated correctly when using certain characters and therefor the text gets either cut off or doesnt show up at all sometimes.
This has affected Undead Assault 3 critical hit damage text as well. It used to work perfectly before but since the last patch it has broken. What appears to be happening is that the text is bigger than the area allocated for it so it appears as "..." instead. Wide character strings are especially prone to this.
I do not think you can fix it as the size of the floating text should be automatic for the size needed to show all characters at once.
are actors affected too? if not you can have an text actor which links to a dummy effect field. set the dummy amount to the number you want to show and show the actor. you can show any number dynamically that way, so at least a crit text will be possible again.
I have been using text tags to display the result of dice rolls for my current project.
Sometimes they fail to show or show up as ...
Why is this?
Thanks

Anyone knows more about this?

I think I can agree that the number 1 is causing the problem..
I'll keep observing the problem.

Just downloaded patch 2.1.7 freshly from SEA servers, issue persists. :(
