Hello again, im stuck.
I have absolutely NO idea how to make it so players 'level'. Not a unit, but over the course of several games the user levels. For example so after 3 games they level to level 2 and they unlock an upgrade and then level 3 and so on. I know how to use basic banks, so i just need to know how to put the player leveling with banks.
I would really apreciate any help, and very thorough explainations as i have no idea how this works.
Thanks for your help
You probably want to save the player level as an integer then save that integer as a bank. Then when the data is recalled during the next game, run a trigger to restore the player level and perks they upgraded.
Thats what im asking, i dont know HOW to set up how the player levels. Like in co op how the commanders level up and get upgrades, i have no idea how to do that and i need help creating it for my game.
Do you know how to save an integer to bank? If so, just save the integer every time a player levels up. I can probably help you but you need to ask a more specific question. Where am I losing you
Im not asking for that, im asking HOW TO SET UP A LEVELING SYSTEM FOR THE USERS. I dont know how to do that, i know how levels and veterancy for units works and heroes but not for the player account, im assuming it would be triggers.
Please keep in mine my knowledge is limited as iv taught myself how to use the editor until now and im only 15 (i started at 9).
As you didnt tell us anything about how exactly the level system is supposed to work, all we can say is "use triggers". Represent the level as integer and increment it when appropiate. Save and load the integer from banks to remember the player levels between games. Use dialogs or layout XML to create a user interface for displaying the level and progress.
There are no built in methods to level up players. You will need to trigger it from scratch, which shouldnt be hard if you already got a grasp on banks. Just create an integer variable for XP, increase it on whatever criteria you want (objective accomplishment, units killed, whastever), and at a given cap, increase another integer variable used to store players level. That's it, there is no more to it.
