I've been digging through actor messages trying to find a way to make a unit, or at least it's actor, sink into the terrain.
There doesn't appear to be any animation in the game for a nydus worm to "Retreat" or burrow, so I was simply trying to play the death animation while sinking it below the terrain to cause a similar effect. I've tried changing unit height, force set height for the actor attached to the unit, and simply creating a new actor of the same type in the same place incase the unit attachment was preventing it from firing properly.
Is there a collision/clipping issue that's not allowing the unit to move below the terrain level, or am I simply not finding the correct action?
By default a unit's height is relative to the ground and it cannot be negative. You can change it to be relative to the lowest point on the map by using Set Unit State (Ignore Terrain Height) in triggers, or by editing the same value in the data editor.
Note that when you turn this on, your unit's height will still be zero and you'll need to set its height equal to the ground's height to get it to reappear.

@ZMilla93: Go
Thank you. I've got a better looking effect now. I just wish I could find a way to play an animation in reverse...
