Is there a way to directly modify xxx/xxx exp by triggers rather than using a effect/buff that will increase it? (e.g. i have 100/250 exp and i want to say -lvl to get 150/250 exp)
also, is there a way to get like unit exp needed for next lvl / unit exp obtained / unit level
For your first question, no I don't think so. But creating the effect that adds experience is easy enough. I set my experience gain for the effect to +1, then create a loop in a trigger setting the number of repeat times to however much EXP I want to be awarded.
You can check a unit's experience level and a unit's accumulated experience. If you know how much exp is needed for each level you can check the unit's current EXP amount and subtract that from the amount needed at the desired level. If you use a mathematical progression for required exp per level you can create a simple function to solve this for you.

Wow thanks a lot, I didn't know experience was under properties. I was googling for the answer and found these more complex solutions first lol.

I'm preety sure you can just
"modify unit property (experience) +100"

Oh, oops. Didn't even see that one. xD
Heh, didnt see that one. Also helped me find the values that are unit experience/level. Thanks
Yeah, I think it was not there back in beta, so people resorted to the looping of "add 5 xp" or whatever. But glad I could help :D
