Cannot find a good source to help accomplish what I need so I thought I would just create a thread and ask you guys,
Basically theres 6 major points in my map that I'd like to crate minimap Icons for. Tried copying the way the xel'naga tower ones work but I have been unsuccessful.
seems to work, my only problem now is the model that keeps showing is a big white circle with a few different colored squares inside of it. Currently messing with it to try and fix it but not quite sure what the problem is.
If they are units and you want to use the Xel'Naga method, go to Actor -> UI -> Minimap Icon and select an image file. Remember its only possible to define one image per actor so if you want them to use diferent icons you have to create diferent actors.
And you need to set Unit -> UI -> Fog Visibility to Snapshot or something like that, bcause if its hidden the icon won't show up.

This seems like a question more suitable for the Data forum. The closest thing you'll get via triggers is a minimap ping with the image you want.
my apologies for having posted it here, if it's possible to have it moved that would be great.
yes just get minimap ping to the model, you can even face it in the direction you want and keep it on the mini map for as long as you want
action > ping > create ping with facing
then select model and duration if you want it to last all game then if you intend for you map to last 20 mins then 1200 duration
