Hello fellow mapster, how are you.

Right now I am having trouble to hotkey several hero unit.

At the begining of the map the main hero have F3 as hotkey, but if I load a save game or different map sometimes the hotkey change.

Is there a way to make it fixed ?

I've included screenshot, as you can see there are 5 hero each with F3 - F7 as shortcut.

I am trying to change the F3 to F7 and F4 to F3.

Sorry for the bump, after a week if still no reply I will just assume no one knows how.

Sorry having a hard time figuring out what's going on. So after a save/load, the heroes seem to sporadically change hotkeys? Is it always those 2 switching places (F3-F7 and F4-F4)? I'm not sure what information I'm supposed to get from the screenshot. I think you can order the heroes by order they are chronologically assigned to the player. So if you get control of all of them at the same time just give them to the player once every .06 seconds or something similar.

Well in mission 6, I have 8 heroes. But when I try to add them, the game can only display hotkey for 7 hero only.

Thus making the hotkey get swapped between existing hero.

Sometimes when finish loading, the hero that was assign as F3 change to F5, and the hero that was assign as F5 change to F3 etc.

I did that, I change the owner of said heroes in 1 seconds interval. It works for the 2nd part (RPG/Mircro), but for the 1st part (makro) it didn't.

First I though maybe a bugs, the game limit only can have 7 hero unit per maps. So I try changing it to only 5 and the hotkey swapping didn't happen.

So which means if there is no way to assign them manually by triggers or using data editor, I will have to limit the hero units per map to only 5.

I think 5 heroes is way more than enough anyway and is borderline gratuitous. Warcraft 3 gave you at max 3 and that was still a lot to handle.

That is why I have to be creative, and divide the timing for the heroes to appear.

On M06 1st part makro 3 heroes, 2nd part mikro 5 heroes.

Maybe for later mission 1st part 3 heroes, 2nd part 2 heroes etc.

 I know this thread is old, but did anything come out of it? I have the same problem with hotkeys
