How hard would it be to create the same gameplay style as in this video
Starts at 3:51. Things like the red squares for movement spaces. Also making it so units don't attack until end turn is used and the opponent doesn't see any movement until end turn is used.
make arena with tiles and dialog skills. When you press dialog skill change tint color of tile....select title to move? error message if not coloroed tile, Change tint color back...
Should be possible but I dont think its worth doing such a thing.
Its rather easy actully, there is a map that has this already ( looked on YouTube and can't find it sadly) but you just have to split the map up into squares. And hold where you can and can't move in an array of the map, simply enable/disable the swears in the array in the arrays that can move in, then click to move. Simply check the Mouses click position and see if it lands in a "square" area that is allowed for moving
The tricky thing is patting ( and this has nothingto do with sc2, patting is just tricky in this type of movement all together)
Another trick would be how you issue order to move, he can't simply move from x to y, he would need to follow the "path" if he turns, since units in this can move 360 it becomes tricky.
But do a search for Starcraft tactics or something like that
(typing on iPhone sorry for the few odd typos) swear = square
annoying, but working solution:
Make a bunch of points, evenly spaced,
. . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . .
then make a unit that looks like a tile.
Make it so that every time you select a unit, it activates the trigger that creates a bunch of those tiles, one at at each point in a radius of [however much you want it to be].
Then, all you have to do is disable aggro and stuff in the data editor (so you have to attack move) and you're done.
Oh, forgot about the movement:
When the player clicks in a region (which will be made to match the points) after selecting a unit, it will calculate a path for the unit to move, then move the unit from point to point to point.
The calculating part is the hard part....
Thanks. I'll let you know if I need anything. Right now I'm playing around with getting this started and trying to balance school. So there won't be results for a while.

You're going to have to code your own movement system and range detection and all that. It's cumbersome but doable!
I made this style of map in WC3
Even made my own AI for it. Let me know if you need any pointers!
Do not use point or anything ... You never want to do that, you control everything by dividing the map in square via math and arrays.
I thought I understood what you meant molsterr but I'm finding myself completely lost.
