I would like to know, if it is possible to show models in dialogs, pretty much like the units in the help menu. If you click on the unit button, you see the unit model cycling around; I want to have something like this in a dialog. Possible?
I would guess so, since I assume the whole help menu could be done using dialogs, but I was not able to find a function for this.
Well, this seems to be a unit embedded in a fullscreen dialog, I doubt I can use this the way I want to. If thats the only possibility, I will stick to the conversations, I think.
I'm not sure you can do that at the moment, Model dialog is currently not supported yet, and is told to be supported soon. (like in campaign) So your best bet is to use fullscreen image like I did
Yeah, well, I do not want to use a fullscreen dialog for this. So I think I will stick to the portrait shown by conversations; does not look so bad after all (maybe I can even modify the portraits to show the models? Dunno)

I think that's only possible with Galaxy Scripting.
Don't know for sure, but seems likely.
Well, Galaxy is no problem, I am quite familiar with it. However I did not find a native for this.
Bump
For now, I use a conversation window to show the portrait of the specific units; however the model spinnin would be way more cute ;)
