I am used to the trigger system of War3, and can't seem to figure out how to work out the trigger I want without using custom scripting (which I have no experience using).
Can someone run me through a way to set this up?
I already have a behavior called speed which is on a hero unit I have, this trigger fires when that goes up a point.
1.35 is the base attack speed of the structure I made.
Unit Group: Pick each unit in group and do action
Pick any unit owned by player 1 inside of map boundaries equal to name
- Change attack speed period of [picked unit] to (Math - arithmetic) 1.35/(1+ [Value of Speed on (All units in map boundaries Required: Invulnerable and owned by player 1)] x .05)
The end result being that every time you gain 1 speed on your hero, his buildings will shoot 5% faster permanantly, stackable.
I have tried sifting through the triggers for about half an hour now trying to find the things I need, but it's all so different in the GE.
@s3rius: Go
Yeah, that's the base trigger string that I used. I was hoping someone could help with the whole trigger though. I know there is a way to modify units, and there HAVE to be math functions... I just can't find any of them inside of the submenus.
OneTwo always talks up SC2Mapster.com, so I figured all of the members here would have a lot more experience with the ins and outs of the GE, and could point me in the right direction. I need to redesign the same trigger for other structures and attributes too, like strength changes attack damage, etc... so I have to know that I'm doing it right before I simulate an erroneous trigger, you know?
Edit:
I think I figured the whole thing out finally. I had to make a catalog to gain in-game access to my data editor. That and I now realize where all of the functions and presets are and what they do.
I only have one final question. In Warcraft III, the editor was very picky about function reponses to events. If the GE is the same way, I need to know if this will work or not.
- When I use the Unit Uses Ability event, I know I can use Triggering Ability because the help text says so, but can I use Triggering Unit to refer to the casting unit?

This?
It's under Pick every Unit and then as Unit Group you select "Units in Region matching condition"
