I have a trigger set the combat shield upgrade on Player 15 (hostile) to 1. When the trigger runs, the combat shield is added to the marines but their HP doesn't increase. What am I missing?
I used "Add Upgrade Level For Player" and it looks like you used "Set Upgrade Level For Player." I would think that they'd work the same for this, but maybe they don't even though we're just upgrading to level 1? Try using "Add Upgrade Level For Player" and see if that changes anything?
Just to make sure. Are you using Campaign dependency? Combat shield is researched different way in campaign than in melee games so it affects what is right way to activate that upgrade.

I just tried this trigger on a new map and it seems to go fine. The marine's health went from 45 to 55:
Not sure if that's the same thing you did or not. If it is, did you edit this upgrade at all?
Tech Tree - Set Marine - Combat Shield upgrade level to 1 for player 15
That's the one I got. Why is yours different?

The editor wont work on this computer, but I can give you a work-around if all else fails.
When the upgrade finishes, pick all marines for player 15 and set the life as: Life = Life + 15
And, whenever a unit spawns for player 15, it checks if it is a marine, if it is, selects the last created unit and sets its life as: Life = Life + 15
As I said, this is a MAJOR workaround but would in theory work if you can't seem to get what SHOULD work, working.

I confirmed they both actually do work fine. It was a data issue. I copied the marine and didn't duplicate and relink the upgrade.
Odd thing is, the same was also true for metabolic boost, charge, and nitro packs, but they all upgraded. : /
