It is hot here in the Midwest. We're talking eggs frying on sidewalks, corn withering in the fields, senior citizens spontaneously combusting into flames—the works. Inspired by my misery, for WTE 275, I'd like to see your own interpretation of a really hot day. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got (and for a break in this heat!).
When you do something very basic for fun in few minutes. Here is what I got. When you open the window and feel like your burning... and outside there are tornadoes of flame. I think it's time for an air conditionning.
Whoa, that's so realistic I had to look closely to actually understand how you did it. What skybox is this? and are the lava fall along the montain just lava falls?
I'd be cool to have behind the scene image so you see the "wrong" point of view for better understanding.
The lava is a doodad made from the lava plane model. I just angle it down the hill and raise the ground around it and put rocks to cover up where they join.
First screenshot is a doodad i made from the CharLavaPlane.m3 model. It's like a single plane of water. I just rotate it to be angled with a surface and then raise the ground around the edges to hide them.
Second is a different angle of the map. I through raynor right in front of the camera but the ground is actually not even close to him. The perspective makes it look like he is though. I also threw a orange omni light on him. The skybox is actually really close as well.
I tried to do that a while ago, to tilt lava plane or water plane just to get some sort of river going downhill, but it never actually looked as good as what you have here. Well done.
It feels like the World of warcraft cataclysm expansion haha. I would have added a bit more falling stuff in the crack such as street lights tilted, falling trees, benches half in the lava or things like that. If it's sudden, then stuff gets seperated in half, splitted, the ground shakes, etc.

It's a char skybox from one of the cutscenes.

Here's mine! Everyone was having a perfectly nice day, and then the ground opened right up.
