Sorry for the delay this week in getting a new WTE up. For this week's theme, I want you to show us a nice river. I'd really like you to emphasize the "nice" bit here, not a river choked with corpses from the Zerg's predations.
Well done! Even though it's "small" it looks great. Sometimes when making terrain that small in the editor it turns out to be somewhat ugly because of scaling, texturing or the terrain deformation etc. But even the water seems alright. I'd add maybe some small details to the water like rocks at the bottom, some relfection with refraction, and some doodads that has flowing water that looks like splash near the rocks.
I know it's not really a "river" but i wanted to take the chance to show off a custom tileset i created in photoshop. It's really only a recolor of some existing, with some effects added. But i think it goes pretty well.
The idea was to create a kind of Oasis styled tileset. I might try to create some different tilesets soon.

Adding more images to a new post because of new mapster limitation to number of attachments.

Ok, let's go another week on this one, since it's gotten so little traffic. I'll try to get something done for it.
Yeah, com'on people! :P

These are from a mission. Rearranged that terrain a bit so that I could take a bit more scenic pictures from side angles.

It's very well made thought, nice job.

Looks cool! It really have a unique atmosphere to this terrain. A whole map in this theme would be quite interesting. Well done.

Glad you like it. Thanks for heads up with the water, I agree that it could be spiced up a bit. ^^

I really like the sandy mar-sara tiles. Without the red hue it has a lot more potential for new desert tilesets. Are you going to upload these?
The Oasis is nice. Looks really good to contrast the wasteland around it.
yeah I thought starcraft needed a more yellowish/beige colored cracked stone.
I will probably upload them soon at one point. If you join me on our Discord server I'll most likely share it a bit early though :)
