I've recently re-discovered a bunch of ideas you folks dumped in the global information and idea thread, and I'm going to be going through the ones we haven't done yet in a backward fashion in the coming weeks. The first is a concept coined by ScrinKing: "Action". What's the idea? Simple: recreate, through terraining, a scene from a movie. This can of course be a very landscape focused scene from a movie like 'Into the Wild' or 'Avatar', or something up-close and in detail like 'Fight Club' - the choice is all yours. If you leave out the name of the scene you've recreated, you can let others guess what it was.
Mad Max Mad Max Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). Just a WIP (gonna add other cars). Does anyone know better models for the guitar? Also, yes, I realize now that the Doof Wagon is an 8-wheeler, but this was from my limited memory of the vehicles.
Impressive. I wished we could just, take that, put it in an optimised model, and make it move and shoot. There must be at least 80-100 doodads in there. There are big ones like the wheels and the walls pitched and rolled, and some very small ones like the pipes underneath, the bullhorn, ... I agree with Jack, "What a strong first post". You got dedication on that one ;)
Ya know that moment when you start a terrain and think to yourself: "crap... this is gonna take a lot of time and effort that I don't know if I want to invest..." so I will show what I made in about 3 and a half hours of fiddling around, maybe you can see the movie I was going for and see if I got the time to finish it.
Basically I would have to make 2-3 more structures using at least 5000 doodads in the process which are placed at many heights and angles, so yeah... XD
Weekly Terraining Exercise #214
Hey folks!
I've recently re-discovered a bunch of ideas you folks dumped in the global information and idea thread, and I'm going to be going through the ones we haven't done yet in a backward fashion in the coming weeks. If you leave out the name of the scene you've recreated, you can let others guess what it was.
As always, good luck and have fun!

For a long time, I just couldn't think of a scene I wanted to do. I decided on Pacific Rim this morning. It's not exact, but it's fun!
