Hey folks! This week I actually had something different planned from the HOTS tileset try-outs we have been doing, but seeing as how they have been quite popular and Uzurak has requested this one... why not? Therefor, this week's theme will be "Korhal City". Make me any terrain in that tilesets, whatever you end up doing with it.
Next week I'll try for a more radical theme. Good luck and have fun!
I'm only about half done with this one (planning on fully detailing the entire map eventually), but I'm starting to burn out on it. So I'm posting what I have before I stick it on the back burner for a while.
This looks really great. I would only say that there is a scale problem. The ground signs and roads are nice, but then when you look at the destroyed buildings, eh..something is wrong. Look at the last picture at the top, the parking and next to it the building. 2-3 cars long would be the building size? I think it should be slightly scale up to make it even more realistic. Keep doing awesome terrain like you've been doing for so long!
Well, I can't make appealing destroyed city terrain with this just yet, so I decided to make this with the Korhal wastes tileset, If that's allowed. Not meant to be a huge contribution, I just got an idea to make something like this and... the rest is history. Also uploaded it with a fake sun.
Hmmm... you should try positioning all of the houses on the right side of the field of view. Right now the little village you've got is really rectangular shaped, while a regular desert village would probably be a lot more rounded. If you move everything over to the right you've got a bit of a different focus in your terrain, plus it'll look like the village slowly 'sinks off' into the background mountain there.
Wait, are you suggesting I position them so they move off into the valley? Or to the side of the right mountain? I'll try both anyway. Thanks for the feedback!

I mean on the right side of the screenshot as we see it in your uploads. So take the 8 houses on the left side of the map and move them behind the 8 on the right side.

Hmm, I've had trouble with this tileset for some reason. I'll wait to see what the community makes of it - maybe give me some ideas!
